My opinion is unchanged. If you can get through in a low rider Freelander, the added height and articulation available via air suspension on the LR4 will clear most everything you'll likely encounter. If available, obtaining training on how best to use your Terran control and traction...
You have consistently said you'll be driving on roads of some type, not trails. I don't you'll need the underbody protection for that. It's only when you start taking the LR4 off "roads" and start exploring remote areas accessible only by high clearance 4x4 vehicles on "trails" where...
SD Zoo
Legoland (can't believe it's not on the list already!)
Disneyland
Long Beach Aquarium
Drive up the coast PCH/101 towards Oxnard, swing by the military missle & aircraft display at the small air base just south of Oxnard.
Cut back to the interior and head up the 99 to Sequais and the into...
We tried some Cooper Discoverer STT Max tires on a RRS a while back. Rubbed something fierce!
I can't remember what size this was, but they fit okay on the LR3. I think they are the Goodyear MTR's on 19" wheels:
Alas, my memory is fading, so take my comments above with healthy "I'm not...
Unseenone, maybe I missed it in the thread, but is there an actual website I can link others too where they can buy your Rhino hitch?
I checked this site, and didn't see it: http://www.differentialpartsus.com
I enjoyed the video, thanks for posting...however, I am not sure how relevant it is to ask a race car driver about the various generations of Montero's..... there is almost nothing but the frame in common with what civilians drive compared to a Dakar race prep'd version.
Eugene, you've made your choice, but another factor to consider is the packing size of the tent. The Kodiak's and Springbar style tents are ENORMOUS when stowed, and heavy.
TwinStick, that was an awesome story!
I used to have a leaky cam seal. But there is no evidence that it still leaking, and the last few alternators I've pulled out have been bone dry, no hint of oil residue on them.
X2 on everything you said. I was never a big fan of TeraFlex in the TJ years, but they've really stepped up their game on the JK platform in recent years, and I would truly love to have a long arm TeraFlex equipped Jeep these days.

I have a searchable version uploaded to my DropBox account. It's two volumes:

My disco fever issues persist, and now one of my headlights has gone dim....not out, just dim. I replaced the bulb, but the new one demonstrates the exact same level of dimness, so it has to be electrical issues. So frustrating. A decent service shop told me my alternator is failing again...
No, I don't think so! And yes, I have long suspected a bad ground, but I have replaced everything and the electrical issues persist. I've documented some of them here...
