    Sourcing a G-Wagen

+1 on what pagoda said. As much as I love the Gwagen (I've been driving one since 1984.), I would be very reluctant to take it to a place where there is no service or availability of parts. The old expression: "When in Rome, do as the Romans do." would point me to a vehicle that has a strong...

How do you carry your fuel on your trailer?

Two 5 gal jerries for gasoline or diesel on one side, and the black tank right behind them is diesel for the inside Webasto Diesel Ceramic Cooktop and the Webasto hot water and space heater. On the other side is a propane tank for the stove in the outside galley.

I don't discuss pricing, other than to agree that they are quite expensive. You can contact Kimberley in Australia for those kinds of details.

No service center in the US. The factory does provide email support and any needed spare parts by postal mail.

Took delivery of our KimberleyKaravan on April 15 in Los Angeles, and drove it cross country to Atlanta with stops in Tucson, Guadalupe Mountains National Park and Carlsbad Caverns National Park. Since it was all highway miles across the US, we used our Audi Q7 3.0 TDI for the diesel fuel...

    Considering a G wagen

Personally, I would take a properly maintained 2000 G500 over any of the 2002+ year models. There is more room inside, as the upgraded interior of the 2002+'s takes up space that can be better used by the driver and passengers. The manual Transfer Case shift lever is far preferable over the...

    G-Wagen 5 Door 5 Cylinder Diesel VIN# ?????

It was most definitely NOT illegal to import. It just had to be Federalized after importation, which on this one appears not to have been done. Best check with Rena Lee at USDOT to see what is the status.

    G-Wagen 5 Door 5 Cylinder Diesel VIN# ?????

Good idea, as the one shown in the original message is not a Daimler or SDP VIN ID tag.
