Dstock's M101A1 build... or the reality, I needed a new project!

croix, Interesting point you make, I was messing around with it a bit last weekend, and had the tabs clamped tightly against the side bars and it appeared to work without binding but I will delve into this further. I am loosely basing this off the the Xventure2 trailer which appears to have...

An amatuers rating of the Surface 2 tablet

No problem, I think I have seen the one you are describing on Ebay. I also run the Torque Pro app, although despite trying 2 decent bluetooth obd monitors, it's pretty hit or miss on the 2013, worked much more reliably on my 2010. Microsoft store has the Asus Vivotab 8 on sale for $149 with...

An amatuers rating of the Surface 2 tablet

I prefer an 8 inch tablet for dash mounting, and it doesn't appear that any have built in gps. Just wondered if there was a particular brand of bluetooth GPS puck that is preferred.

An amatuers rating of the Surface 2 tablet

Which bluetooth gps receiver is everyone liking? I going to pick up a Windows 8.1 tablet but none seem to have built in GPS. Thanks.

    Battery Load tester

I have a pair of 55 watt Hella driving lights that will at least get me discharged faster (but not faster then their 5 hours) than using the low voltage cutoff off on my ARB fridge. I'm going to give it at least one cycle to their spec and see where it ends up.

    Battery Load tester

Ha! So simple...looks like I have a bit of rigging up to do.

    Battery Load tester

Something that could be left on to drain the battery. Currently, I am improvising using ARB fridge and low voltage cutoff to bring the battery down to the 10 volts, which will take a lot longer than 5 hours but they said that is ok. Unfortunately, this will not help with the testing process...

    Battery Load tester

Looking for a reasonably priced load tester to use while recovering my Group 34/78 Diehard Platinum batteries? Any suggestions? Thanks.

National Luna Split-Charge System Charging Issues?

Just re-read recovery info and battery should be resting at 12.84 when fully charged. Should have done another round on the Aux, doh! Well, I will get the main right and then re-visit the Aux.

National Luna Split-Charge System Charging Issues?

Between this thread and the Odyssey vs Diehard I'm losing track of where I am posting...but since I'm the OP here, I'm going to update here. I started the process of recovering my Diehard Platinums using the discharge-charge cycle based on the Odyssey manual and using a 25amp Odyssey Ultimizer...

"Serenity" - My M101A2 expedition trailer build

That just plain cool! Even just cutting it in half would be an interesting thought, I am still trying to figure out where I will mount my Trasharoo!

    Odyssey vs. Diehard Platinum

I used the 25amp Odyssey Ultimizer and my batteries are Group 34.

    Odyssey vs. Diehard Platinum

I have to agree regarding the Odyssey Information, I had an email exchange with the Enersys rep and she was extremely helpful regarding my low resting rate Diehard Platinums. I finally had time this past weekend to pull the Aux battery and start the recovery process, after one discharge-charge...

Well the news is out so here's the build: Expedition Portal So-Cal Teardrop

Damn! Even with the body on, that's going to be a significant difference. Very nice!

Dstock's M101A1 build... or the reality, I needed a new project!

Quick update Didn't have much time this weekend, but started mocking up the rack and how the side bars will work with the him joints on the elevating posts. These are not the final bolts etc., but give an idea of what I am trying to do with the rack. I want to be able to raise each end, front...

Dstock's M101A1 build... or the reality, I needed a new project!

Thanks for feedback, have been being very careful even with just the CARC paint and ventilation when grinding, welding, etc. All that stuff is just plain nasty!

    my aux. 12 volt plan

Haha! Yes, this is one of those items I will be purchasing locally if I go this route, 1) to see if it will fit in the space I have available, and 2)local support, just in case something...ahem..goes wrong.

    my aux. 12 volt plan

Some background here....and I don't want to Hijack the OP's thread although hopefully he will find this useful. No camper involved here, it's a dual battery system, side by side in my 2013 Jeep Wrangler, which is a daily driver featuring an hour commute each way, each day. Wiring is as large...

    my aux. 12 volt plan

I am considering the CTEK 250s as well. Despite modern vehicles putting out 14.0 volts or better, some of us are finding the output is variable, despite what the gauge reads and they are not able to fully charge the aux battery, in my case a Diehard Platinum AGM. I have the National Luna system...
