Ha! I know what you mean about the wait times, which is exactly why even though I have my RTT mounted on my trailer, I still can't bring myself to give up my pair of load bars, even though they haven't been used yet. Trailer purchase happened much sooner than expected.
On the upside, when I do...
Thanks, steal away!!
Rotation would be interesting, but more complicated for sure, might be easier just to rotate the trailer in the site.
I believe I am at 76 inches for the fully extended height but I will need to check for sure. I will let you know this weekend.
An easier route is getting a pair of the Gobi Accessory load bars and mounting the tent to them instead of the crossbars on the Gobi rack itself. Then you just drop the whole setup on the Gobi rack and only have to attach the bars to the rack, which is just 4 bolts total at the outer ends of...
Set backs and progress
It's been a couple weeks since I have posted an update, work has been progressing but as with all things taking longer than expected and my spare time has been short of late.
Going back a couple weeks, I took the trailer to my local welder who has previously done me...
Pretty sure Bundu Gear is out of business, but there is another vendor on this site selling the Howling Moon tents, sorry can't remember who off the top of my head...
Interesting info on the JK Alternator
Came across a thread in the Jeep section that indicates the 160 amp 2012+ JK alternator puts out 80 amps off idle. NL relay is 80 amps. Food for thought.
Thread is here:

The "why" has been clearly explained in this thread and others. If you want to run hub-centric style Jeep wheels, the Dexter and similar axle hubs are too large to fit in the hole in the center of the wheel.
For the record, Paul has been very helpful in trying to sort out my NL issues. Mine seems to be an intermittent heat related issue, and or something maybe specific to my Jeep. I'm trying out the Blue Sea solution to see if the same issue crops up. For me, it's just come down to a matter of...
That sounds even stranger than my problem!
I decided to move on from the NL, and have installed a 500amp Blue Sea ACR instead. I've been swamped lately so haven't been monitoring it closely. Once I have everything in place I will give a better review.
You are correct, the hub centric jeep wheels will not fit over the Dexter hubs. You need spacers, I went with 2 inch and the center section is bored out to clear the Dexter hubs, there is more info in my trailer build thread in my sig. Some have gone with 1.75 inch and then beat the axle dust...
