No we removed the handbrake and replaced the axle with a 3500 pound axle. I have chalk blocks for it now or I can just use a log or rock if I'm in a bind and I need it.

The top weighed approx 175 lbs, so we ordered two 250 lbs gas struts. The 250 lbs struts were too much for it and we had to down size to 150 struts, they worked prefect.
