I’ve been on this journey myself and I think the key factor is your motivation. Are you interested in maintaining your tools for maximum effectiveness with minimal effort? Or are you interested in learning a new craft (knife sharpening) and willing to spend the time to learn at depth? There is...
It’s a model by model issue, but if the manufacture is pushing TPMS data (including pressures) into the CANBUS data, ScanGuage has been creating X-Gauges to display it. They did this for my Xterra, and I appreciate the ability to see more information than the TPMS warning light the factory...
It’s a legitimate question, but I would suggest that we, as a community think about this in terms of how do we help each other continue to enjoy this activity we love.
Who knows, maybe this challenge will remind us all to think about the fundamental reasons we are involved in overlanding in...
That’s what I assumed. I was just trying to think of a place that would require the capabilities of that truck that you could legal go in the USA where it wouldn’t tear up the environment.
But hey, regardless, it seems like a really interesting project and I wish you the best.

Interesting project.
Honest question here-
I take it you are North America based and that vehicle is not shippable. Where can you actual take a 17 ton vehicle legally without destroying the environment?

I have been running Wildpeak A/TW3s 265/75R16 116T on our Xterra for 35k. Love them. I went with the SL instead of the E1 load range because they save 12 lbs and ride nice and smooth on the road.
Good snow performance. Quiet on the road, and do well on dirt. No problems with the side walls but...
I’d check the rated max for that circuit first. You may need to put a relay in between so you can wire the compressor to the battery (via the relay) with appropriate wire gage and just use that circuit in the fuse block for switching. If you do this you will need another in line fuse between the...
I haven’t done any research on sources for heating pads. Do you have a link?
I have seen BB has one for their batteries but they want $200+ for it [emoji33]

I believe the EV manufactures are using battery heaters to compensate.
You can go this route for our purposes as well but it is expensive. Rumor is Battle Born is also working on an internal heating solution as well. Of course they are already quite expensive.
Hopefully as battery technology...
I believe the issue with cold temp charging is highly dependent on battery chemistry. With regard to LifePO4
, charging at to low of a temperature can cause lithium plating and reduce the capacity and usable cycles of the battery. Each chemistry (and specific cell build) is different and I...
