If I had to choose only 1 firearm to take into the wilderness, it wouldn't be a .45ACP in any platform. While it's a dandy manstopper, it's very marginal as a hunting round for anything much bigger than a man. It is my daily defensive carry (in Glock 30 or G21 format).
OTOH, a .41mag is close...
Between safety regulations and smog regulations, the US won't allow efficient vehicles to be produced, imported or sold.
Literally we are forcing ourselves to support people trying to kill us, through stupidity and Congress (but I repeat myself).
I was an Army National Guard MSC officer back in those days (for a couple of years before I got a flying slot in the ANG) and spent a lot of time supporting a Guard SF company.....they HATED the A-team because of their lack of shooting ability.
And shooting into a building, not knowing if...
I've got a Rossi knock-off of a Smith 627, the trigger needed a bit (actually, a lot) of work but other than that I've seen factory made S&W's from the 80's that were worse pieces of work.
Yeah, that 100 year old surplus ammo wasn't flashless ;) Be careful in California - you could start a fire!
Seriously, buy a couple of cans of ammo, and practice with one of them. The most successful sniper in the world, Simo Hayha, used a Mosin M28 (mostly) in his work...They're good enough.
My diesels only get the engine heaters plugged in when the temps are colder than -20F, for more than 3 hours (actually the heaters only get turned on for 3 hours prior to my departure). This has worked in Montana, and across Canada and Alaska... I've never had a problem starting with outside...
The tool is a multi-purpose tool that is normally used to remove the barrel collet on 1911 pistols. The notches in it (the saw teeth) are different depths to show different distances (using one for firing pin protrusion).
You can also use the tool as a screwdriver, etc...
I don't know where...
Alternator rebuild shops should be able to build up any alternator - within limits (the size of the outer case is a limit). It requires adding more windings to the rotor/stator....and like a bigger alternator, requires more engine HP to turn.
LOL.
My last house in California (in Santa Clarita, outside Los Angeles) was sold after I owned it for 7 years, for about 150% of what I paid for it (after closing costs). It was on the market for 4 days, which means I didn't ask nearly enough for it (oh, well)....
It sold again after 2...
For anything my MSR won't handle, I like using any of my Coleman classic white gas stoves - with propane.
Adapters are available that allow using propane - either cylinders, or hooking up larger tanks. This way I have the luxury of choice, and the adapter goes in the stove when packed...
