That’s better. 285/75r18(34.8”).
Had to pull the passenger fender liner forward a bit.
Stock ‘15 2500hd. No lift, no level. Non z71.
Nokian outpost made in Finland. More aggressive than I thought there’d be. A little more noise and vibration than the ht tires that were on the truck.

Im not sure if you’re referring to the actual CARC paint on that m1009. I’ve washed humvees a few times which I think is the same paint. I found it hard to clean. It’s like a very fine sandpaper.
Maybe all flat paint is like this?
Might not be a problem for you.
I think the ride quality thing is overblown.
I went from a chevy 2500, to a Ranger, back to a 2500. I didn’t like the ride of the Ranger, too soft. It was probably better off road though? Not sure. I just didn’t like the extra body roll and the like.
The only time I hated the ride of the 3/4...
I like bilstien shocks but I don’t think they’re gonna make anything smoother.
I know on the square body ford you could reverse the shackle or something for a smoother ride. Not sure if the ‘99 was the same.
I was originally looking for Nokian 285/75r17 and couldn’t find any. I noticed 285/75r18 was available so I drove 4 hours and bought a set of used 18” wheels for $100.
Hopefully 35’s fit my Chevy 2500.
If your tow vehicle has a seven way it should have a charge wire. I’m not sure if you actually want to charge off the lights or that charge wire. Charge wire is the only way to do it with the factory wiring. On my Chevy truck the charge wire is a 10awg and is fused at 20 or 30 amps. I think...
I towed a 10,000 lb 34’ travel trailer all over with a Chevy 6.0. I towed it on a 4,000? mile road trip out west and back. Power was lacking a bit at altitude at highway speeds. Not sure how much power comes into play off-roading. You’d be in low range anyway.
That thing was too big for me, I...
I wouldn’t bother with fx4. I had a locker and skid plates on my base XL. The only thing I didn’t have was the trail modes or whatever. The fx4 shocks on the old model where garbage I guess, but I didn’t like non fx4 shocks either. 33’s fit stock.
We just did a 1300 mile road trip towing our little 3,500lb camper over the mountains and dessert etc., truck didn’t use a drip of oil. The double cab was tight when I was sitting in the passenger seat with my brother-in-law sitting behind me, I’m 5’10”and he’s 6’2. I was hoping the crew cab...
