I think I got my boating license around the same age. My grandpa used to take me fishing when I was young and no one else really did fishing. So I was eager to pick it back up now that I'm home for a few more weeks.

I have done a few offshore trips and spear fishing or lobster picking, but not the sit out on the lake and have some beer and hope stuff bites type fishing for ages.

So how do you transport the rod / net / tackle etc on the jetski? Do you catch and release or do you have a setup to get the fish to shore?

So jealous. I'd love to do some off shore fishing off the Sunshine and Great bear coasts of BC. The lobster picking would be cool to do too. Mmm... then do a lobster bake afterwards with the fresh lobster....



I was spoiled on my last BDay with some new fishing gear. (Bonus points for @Grassland distraction)



Got a new soft tackle bag, two new rod cases (pictured) and two new bite alert fishing rods. Can't wait to try them out.
Have a couple Kayaks in the backyard that haven't been used yet too calling my name.
Haven't had a chance yet.

Hes a hockey Podcaster. They have a running joke that he bought a kayak and it sat on his truck then his backyard for like 5 years without use.

Hes using it for a 5k for charity coming up.

Ah, gotcha. No, the ones we have belong to friends who never used them. We asked if we could try them out and they said yes as they didn't want to use them (They were a gift) and didn't want them in their back yard anymore. Then we haven't gotten around to trying them out yet, lol Gotta get a rack and J bars so we can transport them.

I know I replied to a bit of this post but I got real busy real quick so I wanted to swing back around to answer it. Rod sits in the footwell, but I'm thinking of ways I can fix it. The tackle is in a single 3700 case that fits in the main storage of the ski. The bait goes in my beer cooler, its not the greatest but it works for the time being. Sea Doo makes a cooler that eases a lot of this by having mounts for the fishing poles and cup holders and all that, it can be a live well for bait or storage for the catch but so far I'm only doing catch and release so I really don't have to make that jump for the time being.

A few weeks back when I went camping I happened to be with a buddy who is much more skilled than I at fishing and he ended up cleaning and fileting them so we had them as a snack alongside our planned dinner. His beer batter was amazing, super light and flaky. He said next time we go he'll bring me along for more the post fish stuff so I can learn that.

Lobster picking in San Diego was great, but the season is october to march and you have to do it at night in the water from a vessel. I think the catch limit was 7 per person per day. I recommend a good thick wet suit for it.

My moms house happens to be about 15 minutes from the largest Bass Pro thats not the Pyramid, so I just kind of mosey on over there when I have a chance. I've been slowly collecting stuff, but have to be cognizant of the fact that everything I pick up I have to bring with me to Florida in about a month. Then I'll have to buy a bunch of new stuff for salt water fishing.

Also what bike is that @Todd n Natalie?

I'm trying to be the voice of reason here, and now I'm planning out my finances for more motorcycles, a Super Duty, and 285/75R18 tires!!!

The amount of money this site makes me wish I had lol.

I’m trying to decide on 33’s or 34’s(285/75r17)for my 2500 Chevy and I come into this thread and it’s 35’s and 37’s lol
