    The Daily Bike

If your into these kinds of bikes you should definitely check out Bicycle Quarterly. They specialize in these vintage randonneur bikes along with currently produced bikes that take their styling and functional cues from that era and riding style. I also really enjoy their book "The Golden Age...

    shocking!!! another shock question

I also just put 5160's, thuren springs, carli trackbar, steering box brace, and a hellwig swaybar on my '06 2500 CTD. I did it all at once so I can't say how each component improved the ride, but washboards that I used to feel my brain rattling around in at 15mph I can now smoothly drive at...

I just put the Thuren springs, Bilstein 5160 shocks, Carli trackbar, Steering box brace, longer swaybar endlinks and Kore bumpstops on my '06 cummins 2500. It rides SO much better. I no longer feel like I'm going to be catapulted through the roof of my truck with every speed bumpish type bump I...

Thoughts on flat beds & tool bodies

I've also been desiring to put a flatbed on my truck, but I've heard so many second/third hand stories about having to stop at weigh stations. Does anyone know the actual states that enforce those laws? -Chris

    Replacing a rear bike shock

The two primary measurements you'll need to know are the eye to eye length and the stroke length. Some of the new air shocks will need to know leverage ratios, but there are only a couple that specific. You could also check with hippietech about rebuilding your current shock... -Chris

    Yakima lock core numbers?

New Yakima cores are stamped on the inside of the core. You need to have it out of the rack to see it. Are your racks locked? If not you can use the master core removal key to pull them out. If their locked, I guess a trip to the locksmithy. -Chris

    Bike Advise Needec

For someone your size stay away from anything that has a freewheel(except for a singlespeed) on it. Get a cassette rear wheel or else broken/bent axles are in your near future. This will eliminate all bikes under $400, and some that creep into the fours(Fisher Tarpon). I sell quite a few of the...

    Another Great Adventure Film

That is a great video. I'm trying to wrap my head around some of this new'ish hd video stuff. Why are they using DSLR(still??) cameras for shooting video? Do the provide a higher resolution than a "video" camera? Do cameras at the level of a Canon 5D blur, or totally eliminate, the lines between...

    Best touring/Long distance seat

That's a good question. I have a bucket of saddles sitting in my garage that I've tried and didn't work for me. Now saying that on my "touring" bike I run a Brooks B17 aged. I like the standard B17 abit more, but this one works well. For what it's worth, Bontrager aftermarket seats come w/ a 90...
