The Road Chose Me: Driving a Jeep Wrangler 80,000 miles around Africa for 2 years

If you get a chance do a walking safari in Luangwa. I did it when I was a kid with my family. Two guides with rifles and a small group of people. Makes you very aware humans aren't the top of the food chain in some places. The guides were most nervous about the Cape buffalo, lions and other...

    Power Take Off

On the Fords the PTO option includes the port on the trans with the internal gear in the trans to drive it. I believe it also includes the software programming in the PCM for a PTO. There are all sorts of commercial uses for a PTO; wreckers, bucket trucks, etc. I'm a fleet mechanic and deal...

What are the limitations of a really large expedition vehicle?

Use the proper application of leverage for changing big tires. Actually they aren't bad to do with the right tools. DO NOT let them tip over though, then you will need a strong helper or crane.

Fuel filter? When was it changed last? I've seen trucks get bad diesel and plug a filter up in a few hundred miles and then your power goes down.

Drove a JKU and JLU back to back yesterday...JK is still better.

No no. The last of the real Jeeps had flat fenders, 3 speed manual transmissions, and valves in the block. CJ-3B, valves in the head!!! Not a real Jeep.
