The ABS seems to have reset itself. The lights are not coming on anymore. I've probably put 200+ miles on it since the swap. everything seems fine now.
Well, I went to the junkyard. I picked up a disco 24 spline diff and two axle shafts. I slapped them in my RRC and now all is fine, except the ABS. Apparently the tone rings a different between the early stuff and the later stuff.
I'll live with it for now until I can figure out a...
Mine is a 10 spline. just pulled it, I repacked it with grease, and threw it back together. The CV is still popping. So I need a new one. Anyone know where I can get one from?
10 spline CV with ABS.
Thanks
Is there a difference between the RRC ABS CV axle the D1 ABS CV axle?
I think I might head out to the junkyard and get one out of a D1 if there isn't any difference. They only cost $25 out of the yard.
The front axle on my RRC is clicking when I turn. Is this a sign of a broken CV-Joint? It doesn't seem to bind when I turn or do anything else weird. The swivel ball are not leaking either and had the new grease installed at Land Rover when the recall was done back in the day.
I'm 95%...
I have HD Old Man Emu Springs on my Disco, I like them just fine. But I have a winch, ARB Bumper, Roof Rack and TJM rear Bumper. And I carry a lot of crap.
With the 1-2" lift, will I need to modify the driveshafts? or do you think it'll be okay?
I've had mine up to 90 mph (most likely the fastest I'll ever go in it, it's not a BMW) so far, and it feels good. I don't want to make it drive like crap with too much lift.
Haven't been doing much lately due to my other projects: 1977 VW Camper Bus and my 1993 RRC LWB. I finally decided to break out the welder tonight and finish some work up on my rear bumper. I converted this TJM D1 bumper to work on my Disco 2. I just need to add some lights and jerry can...
I think it might. i guess I could grab the one off my D2 to see what the difference is
I checked the vacuum lines and replaced all the crapped out ones. The vacuum pump is also working. I guess the only thing left is the computer.
