They probably were not designed to be taken off an on. If you want the ability to go between lifted and stock, you should probably find a programmer. I haven't heard of anyone else wanting to switch suspension rods everytime they go 4 wheeling.
I hope so, because there isn't any going back now. I just need to unbolt the engine mounts, take off the hood, and unbolt the transmission, and the engine will be on its way out.
Anyone want to buy a 4.2 V8? Help me offset the cost of this build. LOL
I don't know why it wouldn't work. I have a pattern to mate the 4HP22 to the OM617, it should be fairly easy to do the swap. wiring will be a snap.
The only thing that looks dodgy is the front sump oil pan, but it is steel, so that can be fixed with my welder.
So I got this for $150. I'm selling the 350 V8, or shall we say, trading it for another D2.
OM617. Now i just need a turbo, and adapter for the 4hp22 transmission. Gas mileage and I'm going to tweak it to run on 15 psi of boost.
how good is the 6.2L? I'm looking to swap something into my 93 LWB. I have an LT230 locking version from a D2. I just need an engine and transmission. I can't decided which way to go. Is the engine strong enough to put a turbo on it for some extra power?
Just swap the axle shafts and differentials. much easier, less painful. I upgraded my front axle in my RRC to 24 splines from a 1996 D1. I had to readjust the ABS wheel speed sensors to make it work, but they fit and work just fine.

It doesn't look to bad. I see one of the horn buttons has been ripped off. No pictures of the engine compartment though. No maintenance history, so I would have it checked out by a mechanic that knows land rovers.
