What about a used 1st generation Tundra? The Access Cabs like mine are barely wider than a new Tacoma, and the 2004-2006 Double Cabs are only slightly wider than mine. The wheelbase on a Tundra AC(2000-2006) is about the same as a Tacoma DC shortbed, and the Tundra DC (2004-2006) is the same as...
My thought is: with the 4.7V8 it may be possible to get equal or better mileage loaded and towing with the V8 over the V6. Highway mileage in an unloaded condition and the V6 will be a bit better.....and if you do lots of stop-n-go in town stuff the V8 will suffer a bit more. What's your mileage...
Isn't it funny how just building one starts the ideas rolling for the next one.....even though a next one was never in our original plans, we have lots of thoughts and ideas to improve a second one. and the building is quite fun and enjoyable, really a good way to pass the time...
Nice framework! Are you linking all the water tanks together? Nice doors, they look similar to the ones we used from Vintage Technologies. Looking good as always, and I think 8 a year would be plenty and still leave you with fun time to spend.
We've got one in our teardrop. It's only seen two road trips so far, but it's done some tasty cinnamon rolls and baked an apple pie to perfection and the stovetop works as well as our Coleman stove we've used for the last few years. Having an oven is sweet!
The only issues we've had are the...
We used the West System 105 Epoxy on all of the external and kitchen areas of our trailer. The interior got a few coats of fast drying flooring polyurethane.
We managed to put another 500 miles on the trailer going to the ARSES Little J float in PA this weekend. Great trip and the trailer towed and worked so well! Well, with the minor issue of the regulator on the Camp Chef stove/oven sticking closed and not letting us fix coffee Saturday morning. A...
Ed,
We got a custom sized box made to fit a space in our truck rack by CustomToolboxes.com. Well made and it was done quickly and reasonably priced.
This is the best photo I have, but it looks like any other aluminum truck box, it's just sized narrower than most. It's the one in the middle...
picture me lying on a garage creeper, underneath the trailer, rain pouring down and a river of water trying to wash my tools, connectors and tape down the driveway! At least I was mostly dry that way......
See how this works? I post a few things, peeps reply, and then I wait a loooong time before I post again. Since the Indiana trip we've been whittling away at issues we've found or just completing things we've left unfinished. Pictures will come along eventually, but you'll probably have to...
Hey Old Man, our canopy is a FirstUp Gazebo from WalMart. Easy to set up and it has survived some mighty high winds on Cape Lookout National Seashore. On our 20th Anniversary we used it with our rental Teardrop the sidewalls (sold separately) worked great to keep out the driving rain we...
I just go to the local hardware store and pick up either the nylon or the brass (not iron!) fittings I need for whatever project it is. Both seem (to me) to be durable and useable with the plastic water tanks I've used.....
