Thought on Ozark Trail Hanging Tent

Not quite as big, but have you considered an OZTent? The quality is certainly there. And you can expand it with side panels for the awning. I see now that there's also a screen room addition.

Mojave Road, Mojave Desert, California October 10-12 2009

Can you double-check the link? There may be a permissions setting that needs to be changed. All I get is the following message: " Oops... there's nothing to see here. Either you do not have access to these photos, or they don't exist at this web address. Please contact the owner directly to...

Thought on Ozark Trail Hanging Tent

Standing up to wind would be one of the biggest issues I see. Will the frame support the extra pressure of high winds on the side panels? If there are enough, strong attachment points for plenty of guy lines, I think this might still work. This assumes the fabric and its seams/ zippers/ etc...

    Camera Blues

I think you answered your own question. I'm sure the G11 is an improvement, as the G10 was an improvement over the G9. But, if you're used to an SLR, then I don't see how going to a PnS, even one as great as the G series are, will make you happy. The timing sucks, but I'd see what I could...

Dual band antenna mounting on roof rack.

Agreed, but how much is it really necessary at these frequencies? For example, how much of a groundplane does an HT have? I'm still new to this and I'm trying to learn as much as I can. I can tell you this much, it has worked great for me. Last year in a caravan of multiple vehicles, all...

    High elevation lighters

I've used a typical refillable lighter at 12,000' with great success to light my Cook Partner stove. I fill it with the Snow Peak Giga Power blended fuel. This may not be as easy for starting a camp fire as it is for lighting a propane stove. I also always carry a Zippo as they don't require...

Dual band antenna mounting on roof rack.

Gary, the statement I placed in quotes and the link I provided (Here's ) is from a vendor. Also, what do you take the statement "ground independent antennas" on Diamond's own site to indicate?

Dual band antenna mounting on roof rack.

Another nugget of wisdom: K9000LRM Motorized Luggage Rack Mount Notice the first bullet point: "• Accepts "Ground Independent" antennas up to 45" in length" Also, "Recommended Diamond antennas include NR73BNMO, NR770HNMO, NR770HBNMO, NR770HA, NR770HB, SG7500A & SG7500NMO."
