That is a Wildernest shell. They were made from around the mid 80s to around the late 90s. I use it a lot and am in the process of refurbishing it with new paint, tent, seals, etc.
It looks like I jumped too soon to close out the trip. I skipped half of our last day together. I do have one more photo to share from that day.

This beautiful wild stallion seemed to pose for us shortly. It looks like he even had a smile. When he decided to leave us it was like wind as he...
Here is a shot of my 02 Ranger on 33x10.5-15 tires. My truck is t-bar cranked about 1.5" in the front and I can adjust the rear with assist air springs. I get no rub and I do a lot of extended off-road trip in some pretty rough areas. The wheel wells look a little stuffed but I don't care. I...
It was at the end of the Death Valley trip after Frenchie had left us. We were headed up a wash to a mining area in the mountains. I can't remember the name of it. I ended up going around to the East side and went up to it the easier way.
.
I did a little research and am pretty sure it was...
Ace, I have always been frisky but try to be on the smart side to keep myself out of trouble. You have turned me around at least once feeling that we would get into trouble if we kept going. We found out later that you had made the right call.
I won't have the shell until Saturday so I can't take a look to see exactly how the spring is attached. Going my memory, it is not attached to the lower section of the shell straight up and down. It offset at a slight angle. The spring is a 180 degree spring so when inserted in the main...
I just place the cap in a position that puts the spring in a near neutral position and securely support it, then unbolt the cable from the cap. There is usually a little tension but not a big deal. I then unbolt the other end of the cable and unbolt the bottom of the main support bar. From...
I need to close out at least my part of the trip. I stayed an extra day at Great Basin National Park. Everybody but Keith and I got up very early to leave after our last night of group camping. They had a long day of traveling to make it to their next destination. I got up to say good bye to...
The problem I see with struts is; they would only work in one direction. The springs work in both directions. They help lift from a closed position and also help lift from a fully open position. The springs tend to become unloaded somewhere between the closed and fully open positions. That...
Yes, you are right Ace. Keith saved Pine Creek in his GPS and lead us there. We actually camped right outside of the camp ground because it had quite a few people there and we could not find site or a combination of sites large enough to hold all of us.
The creek was flowing pretty good...
Here is a part of the jail behind the courthouse in Belmont. I think it must be for the really bad guys. It must get pretty hot in that steel structure during the heat of the day :sunny: and very cold at night in the winter . The broken wall in the background looks to be the main jail. I...
Yes Ace, The DE trips seem to get better every year.
.
I am glad we ignored the warning from the local that told us the road was not open all the way. We saw some vey nice country finding out for ourselves that the trail was blocked by snow. Back tracking is not preferred but it does...
Sorry Laura, I don't have a photo of the hot springs. I was too busy enjoying soaking my feet in it.
.
As we were approaching the some of the lower sections of a valley we kept seeing large sections with an orange glow. Frenchie informed us it was mallow. It sure is prettier than the mallow...
Here are some examples of the meandering roads and the views on our way up to the plateau campsite.

These are some inspirational views from the edge of our plateau campsite. Unfortunately, the photos don't do them justice but clicking on them to blow them up helps.

I don't have much to ad on this part of our trip. Laura pretty much has it covered. I can say it was the warmest segment. I also found a freshly planted tick on me during my shower. I promptly removed it with the help of some equipment loaned to me by Scott.
.
I did get a shot of this ruins...
Keith, that is great shot of that trail. To bad we didn't have access to Google Satellite before we headed up there. Then again, we would have missed out on a good adventure if we had not tried.
.
Here is my flower shot of the day as we were leaving Swales mountain.
.
As we climbed the trail...
Laura, You are right about being thankful for finding this location after a hard day of searching for Swales mountain. There were not too many places to chose from. Indeed, the conversation was inspiring, especially after the cold drinks. Again, my perspective.
It is my turn to show more views from my perspective.
.
This is a shot of the Salt Flats from the West side with considerably less water.
.
This is a picture of an over landing family that stayed near the motel I slept at before our adventure started. That must be fun to pack up and unpack...
Yes, they are mirror images and are not interchangeable. I forgot what they looked like and as soon as I saw the configuration I could tell the were not interchangeable. I didn't measure them precisely but my eye caliper says making mirror images should work.
