This weekend I installed new front shocks and rock lights as I prep for our Rubicon run in July. The front shocks took three times longer than I hoped so the rears will have to wait until next weekend. I also installed front rock lights while the wheel wells were clear. Again, the rear rock...
This year I've bought several pieces of the Stanley-PMI stainless-steel cookware and I like all of it. They also have a camp percolator available now that might be worth a consideration.
I have three stoves. A Coleman Peak1 multi fuel, single burner, complete with the USMC case/pots. It's my "just me" stove. I have another lightweight Peak1 that uses fuel canisters, like aerosol cans, that's the backpack stove. And then there is the classic Coleman two-burner stove for trips...
Front Runner Outfitters had an open house today and a scratch and dent sale to go with it. I scored a JKU Cargo Slider for $150.00. Yes, that is correct, a savings of $320.00. It took as long for me to unload the Jeep as it did to install it. I was wanting just a fridge slider but I just...
I just having a hard time reconciling the utility of a 10lb flashlight when I have a couple of Surefires that use a single 123 battery that fit in the same pocket and put out more lumens than a pair of car hi-beams.
We weren't using the F-150 then. We had a mix of Expeditions, which I preferred and two-door Tahoes, which had their own problems and I hated. I think the problem with the Expeditions was likely the weight of the body unit siting on too few, or too unevenly spaced body mounts coupled with...
Keep an eye on the firewall/floorboards cracking. We had a lot of problems with the Gen I Expeditions running them off-road in the Border Patrol. Once the body starts cracking from flex at the firewall, they're done. We had rows of them lined up, most under 50K miles, all dead-lined and...

I like the design. Clean, simple, stamping. Nice price point too, for a project starting point.
Frankly, I like the idea of a 2wd E250 Econoline with an E-Locker in the rear axle as a base point for a retiree's (me in three years) "Expedition platform". Lift it 3-4 inches, put some LT295/70R17's underneath and kit out the interior to your liking. Think of it as the "Pre-Runner" van.
I talked to the fine folks at Barlow Jeeps in Sedona. They are running them on several of their Jeeps. So far they are quite impressed. I'm leaning towards these at the end of the year when I swap out our Jeep tires.
I got the Hydroflask pint glasses and a growler for Christmas.
I saw these Stanley pint glasses at REI, they're nice too.
This model is on sale on the Stanley site for $9.00
Clearly you don't come from that time when EVERY car and truck had a jack that functioned just like a Hi-Lift. It's an ********** tool for Christ's sake, it is not imbued with mystical qualities, it is not alive, and it is not inherently evil. Good luck getting your rig unstuck with a bottle jack.
