    Recovery Bag Recommendations

I use the 1000 den Cordura carry bag that my Border Patrol body armor came in about 16 years ago. Nice bag it's about 24x12x12, and I can't kill it. It holds my straps, Hi-Lift jack attachments, etc. At Overland Expo I bought a Safe-Jack bottle jack setup and it came with a really nice bag...

    Police Radar trailers

I've had the same thought about repurposing one of the light stand/generator trailers, which come with leveling jacks at each corner right from the get-go.

Funky Smell from Vents = Leaking Heater Core?

Is it an ammonia/urine-like smell? If so, then your problem is mold growing on the A/C evaporator. This is caused by running the A/C on the coldest settings then shutting the car off, never allowing for the evaporator to warm and dry out. It stays cold and wet and then grows funky. It can be...

    Sans Spare Tire

Sorry, but if out wheeling and you rip out a sidewall and don't have a spare because carrying one is "inconvenient", ****, you aren't getting mine. Better problem solve your way out of that expensive problem on on your own. If we're out wheeling and you're on your second tire change for whatever...

can i see your ford expedition pics?

I recommend checking your Gen I Expeditions for floorboard/firewall structural cracks if you are running them off-road and doing any degree of articulation. We had these "Mike Units" when I was in the Border Patrol in the late '90's. I can't count the number that were dead-lined at about the...

    M416 handling question

Judging by the appearance of the trailer, the shocks were leaking and bad some time during the first Nixon administration!

    M416 handling question

What is the load in the trailer and the tire pressure? What speed are you towing at. I'm going to surmise that you are experiencing a combination of factors; too light, too short (tongue length), over-inflated for the payload, and towing too fast.

Jeep Kitchen DIY for overland expeditions

Very nice. You should reach out to the guys at Springtail Solutions. They do a lot of Jeep JK molle racks and accessories. I think a collaboration on this project could work for both of you!

    Found 1978 Datsun Chinook

Rust hole in the door and I'd bet the frame is rotted through as well judging by the body lines between the cab and camper. Still, could the camper be mated up to a 2004 Tacoma 4x4 Quad-Cab? For the right price THAT might be an interesting mash-up.....

    255/85/15 tires

When I had my Gen I Montero I ran LT235/75R15's. Then I went to 31X9.50R15. I doubt that anyone makes a 9.50 anymore but the 235/75's are plentiful. If I still had one I'd go up to 17's and run either LT255/75R17's or Lt265/70R17's, as those sizes are cheap and plentiful.
