    Who makes these wheels?

This is the Mopar Winter Wheel. The Hendrick Dynamics Jeeps being sold to different militaries are fitted with Hutchinson beadlocks. For what you'd spend trying to replicate that steel wheel military look with steel wheels and spacers you can buy a set of ATX AX195 Cornice rims and paint...

    Mounting a Hi-Lift on a JKU

Any time. If you go this route, make sure you have a good ratcheting tap tool as you'll have to thread a couple of sleeves. Dominion offers a tap as an option when ordering the kit, I'd recommend that you get it too.

    Who makes these wheels?

Dodge makes them. They are 5x5.5 bolt pattern spare tire rims and unless you upgrade your front and rear axles to Dana 60s, like the Jeep in the picture, they are not going to fit.

    Mounting a Hi-Lift on a JKU

I run "The Dave" mount from Dominion Off-Road. It keeps the Hi-Lift inside, secure, out of view and out of the elements. It keeps my Hi-Lift, Hi-Lift sand/mud base plate, shovel, and axe secure. There is no way your dog is going to "whack his head on it", nor are your rear seat passengers and...

$379 to change at timing belt at the Toyota dealer?

Sounds way too light, making me wonder what they're leaving out. When doing a timing belt, changing all of that ancillary stuff bolted on the front of the motor is a must, especially the idler wheels, etc. Seriously, they have to remove the old worn water pump anyway, why not replace it while...

Most durable watch ever? Victorinox INOX

I have a Marathon USMC SAR Dive Watch. I can't kill it.

Why not get the biggest battery possible?

The "Biggest" battery isn't necessarily the most efficient battery. Also, "Big" batteries are not only significantly heavier, but take up additional space. It'd rather have a pair of smaller batteries and a very efficient alternator.

Any reason to NOT mount a Viair portable as a mounted OBA?

I have a built in OBA, the Viair Twin, and I love it but it is just that, built in. I also have a car and two "work" vehicles cluttering the driveway. Having a portable unit would sure be handy some times and prevent me from having to do the "driveway shuffle" to get what ever other vehicle...

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Amazing work! I wish I had your knowledge and experience with automotive electrical. In that department I'm pretty much just a neanderthal, making grunting noises when the magic fire of electricity illuminates something after a switch is thrown. Installing my S-Pod was simple enough and...

Looks good! I'm running the same rear setup and a Warn winch bumper up front.

Hi-Lift + Lift Mate to fix a flat tire?

Again. A bottle jack is nothing more than a simple lifting device with limited range and application. A Hi-Lift Jack is a Recovery Device with the number of uses and applications limited only by the imagination.

Best Safari style shirt for Expedition and Casual wear

I have several shirts from two different military uniform manufacturers, Propper and Tru-Spec. Both companies have several different lines in both long and short sleeve that I think you'll find both appropriate and inexpensive. They each also have several lines of "Adventure" pants (think...

I accidently bought an 1970 Mercedes 1113 doka

I have these kinds of accidents from time to time but never on this scale! That's such an awesome base to a mobile house project. Please leave it red, and chrome the wheels and bumpers (I always wanted a fire truck!)

What 32-33" Tires are you running on your JKU?

E-Rated tires air down just fine.

Hi-Lift + Lift Mate to fix a flat tire?

I carry both. A bottle jack is just that, a jack. A Hi-Lift is a recovery tool, useful for an unlimited number of applications besides lifting a corner of a vehicle to change a tire. A bottle jack is great IF you can get it under the axle but I can think of a dozen off-road situations where...

A friend rolled his Jeep twice on the way to Cape York

The most common reason for a Jeep, or any new vehicle for that matter to lose a wheel assembly is the fitment of aftermarket rims WITHOUT removing the assembly washers from the studs. Assembly washers are those funny looking star washers that hold the rotors onto the axle while the vehicle...

Best engine and trim level to get for Subaru Outback?

We have an '07, loaded to the gills 2.5L L.L. Bean Edition, black over brown leather that has served us very well for 92,000 miles. Our car is substantially lighter than the two generations that came after so I'd recommend getting the I-6 engine. Get leather, it's comfortable and easy to...

When you use that winch with its steel cable if it is not a straight pull, right out the front then that steel cable will saw right through that aluminum hawse.

Recaps, re-treads or what ever you call them for a JKU

What he said. Especially on a tire used off-road (aired down), then on highway and back and forth between the two uses. The price savings just isn't worth it.

Recaps, re-treads or what ever you call them for a JKU

I wouldn't put retreads on my lawnmower. Wearing tires quickly? Then get a different tire tread type. Commercial vehicle don't out retreads on the steering axle for a reason, what makes you think putting them on the front axle of your Jeep is safer? Also, those big chunks and strips of...
