There are several calculators to use to figure this out (you'll have to google it, dont remember where), but it didnt work to well for me and my lid. It took me several tries to get it right.
Are you sure the lid is only 95-100 pounds with the RTT? Seems awfully light. Is it aluminum?

The strips are sewn into the fabric of the canvas, and they have a small loop (non-sewn portion) where the bar goes through. It keeps it in place.
