    AEV Brute: The Ultimate Overlander?

Raptors are a completely different market.

    AEV Brute: The Ultimate Overlander?

I always thought that if Jeep produced a RWD J8, with a rear locker, mild height increase, and larger tires, ala TRD Tacoma Pre-Runner, that they'd sell like hotcakes.

    AEV Brute: The Ultimate Overlander?

I look at the Brute then I look at a single BMW R1300GS all kitted out, compare pricing and I suddenly see a lot of value in the AEV.

    wrangler JK Trail Tool Bag

I'm thinking that we should build a list of spare parts and numbers for them. Maybe two columns, Dana 30 and 44. Things like axle/hub bearings, u-joints, axle shafts, etc. Parts big enough to strand you if they fail, small enough to carry kind of things.

    AEV Brute: The Ultimate Overlander?

I've had a Tacoma quad-cab. Until they un-f€£% the seats and seating position I'll never have another. I like the seating position in my JKU so replicating that in a pickup appeals to me. If my wife ends up with a JK in 2017, our JKU will receive a pickup cab, or trade for a brute if the...

    AEV Brute: The Ultimate Overlander?

I've been lusting for the JK Six-pack since those pics came out. I'd love to crawl through it in person. It does need an extended height roof........and a couple of safari windows too!

    KM2's vs ST/Maxx (sorry!)

According to BFG's own website the 34 is actually 33.5" Dia. with a 10.6" section width. In 295/70R17 the STT, the nearest Cooper competitor to the KM2, is 33.46" and 11.8", so a whole 1.2" wider in section and essentially the same diameter. In my book, that is pretty close to the same. As...

    wrangler JK Trail Tool Bag

Seriously, last month those exact same items helped me limp and leak 32 miles back into Moab with a cut rear brake line.

    but what about an FJ...

I would say that it appears your assessment mirrors that of Toyota which is why the FJC is gone and there is now a 4Runner TRD Pro.

    Engine: Upgrade 3.8 to 3.6?

My 3.6" JKU was wheezing for air like a 90 year-old smoker with emphysema last month in Colorado up above 12,000 ft. I could have used a V-8, and a turbo, and maybe some NO2.

Exploring The California Dunes In A 1973 Land Rover Series III

A great short little video of a guy's Series III, a great little truck that even makes this Jeep guy want one. http://coolmaterial.com/video/exploring-the-california-dunes-in-a-1973-land-rover-series-iii/

where are the Porsche cayenne expo builds?

Sorry, but there is no such thing as a "base model" Porsche within a 1,000 miles of my zip code. Around here, those are called Touaregs.

where are the Porsche cayenne expo builds?

I'm anxious to see how airing down 20-22" low-profile P-Metric tires for off-road traction works out.

    KM2's vs ST/Maxx (sorry!)

Before everyone gets all squishy over the 34X10.50R17, that is essentially a 295/70R17. Cooper makes tires that size, as does Toyo, Nitto, and a few others.

    Engine: Upgrade 3.8 to 3.6?

I have a 2013 JKU with a 3.6. If I were you and was going to do a motor swap, I'd do it right; I'd put a hemi in it.

Darn! Wish you were closer to the 805.

    but what about an FJ...

Manual? You can have that. Since you're shopping used, find a good JKR soft top. Personally, I'd avoid a manual, too much time in traffic and I like water; clutches like neither, but if you like them, go for it.

    but what about an FJ...

You mention the no longer produced FJC and the soon to be replaced Tacoma, why not split the difference and get a new 4Runner?

Kugelwagen: VW Thing but better engineering...

I'll pass. Maybe if it were a rethought Kubelwagen, think 1/2 VW Thing mixed with 1/2 Polaris Rzr; that might be fun but driving around in cramped old VW in an itchy wool uniform and a peaked cap, reminiscing on the '40's isn't for me.
