Got a little more work done today, and need to update from last thursday with the lid. I got the lid mounted, and made the rear cargo basket area. I also got the rails on for the RTT. I just threw the RTT on top to see how it all lines up, and so far so good. I wanted the RTT a little higher...
Bruce.... nicely done! Yours looks more robust to say the least! Have you had a chance to use it much yet? I have used mine many times now, and after working out a few bugs, its hard to go camping without it!
Thanks, James
Pete, here is the build thread for the kitchen, I am pretty sure I put the info in there on where I got them. I remember they were cheap, and fit perfectly!

Not sure yet, remember this is doubling as a utility trailer, so I kind of need to keep it simple. My full camp kitchen will slide right in the trailer, so that will likely be how I use it for a while.
Got the main frame built for the lid, ground it down smooth, and will throw the sheet on it tomorrow and build a couple hinges.
I am pretty sure this is how it will open. I want my tent to open with the ladder side right over the toungue area of the trailer, and if I measured right, it...
So this is my progress today. Got outside at about 8:30, and came inside about 4pm. Got quite a bit accomplished today for someone who doesnt know what they are doing.
Just a few pics from when I put the floor down. I had to do it in a hurry since I needed the trailer. I need to flip the trailer and weld the underside, but its solid. The 14 guage is quite tough.
Now that I have a couple other project finished up around the house, I will do some more work on...
Threw some paint on today after finishing up a few little things, and grinding the top smooth so the top sheet will sit nice and flat. Got everything on it right now. I will see how it does, then add to it/change things as needed. It rolls WAY better than my old cart.... :D
Still gotta weld on...
Thanks! Its going to have a 3/8" thick steel top on it for a little fab work for smaller projects, so I expect the cart when loaded to weigh about 550 pounds. Not sure if the casters are up to the task, but we will see.

Just figured I would post up my little project of the day. I just wanted to have a nice sturdy welding cart, and a medium duty fabrication table. The basic layout is similar to another guy's on the GarageJournal.com, but I did my own little detail to work better for me. It's obviously not...
So, I picked up all the steel sheeting I needed to complete the trailer this week, and already have the floor welded in. I also picked up 95% of the tubing I needed to complete it as well. I am actually using the trailer tomorrow to deliver a couch to my wifes sister in Birmingham, and on the...
Yeah that certainly works!! This whole time I have been trying to figure out how to get mine up the darn ladder! never thought of a side entrance...
We just took both of our dogs (choc. lab, and giant schnauzer= 180 pounds of fur) camping last weekend for the first time with the RTT. Wife and I...
Mike, I stitch welded it about every 6 inches or so. Top side for now, but will flip it over and definitely do the bottom next week. Seems to work fine so far. The reason I needed the floor asap is that we are taking a couch to my Sister-In-law's place in Birmingham this weekend, so I will get a...
It had 3/4 treated ply on it originally, I hate wood floors on trailers, so that wasnt an option for me. Now that I have the steel all welded in on the floor, I am very glad I went with 14 gauge instead of 16 in the floor. Much more sturdy. The same size 14 gauge sheet as the 3/4 ply marine...
Thanks Mike, I actually just got back from the steel place. I picked up two sheets of 14ga. 5'x8' and two sheets of 16ga. 4'x 10'. Thats the only way I could get the 16ga. and I need 5' wide for the floor, so I will use the 14 for the floor and lid, and 16 for the sides.
On a side note, its a...
I did a little searching, but I need help fairly quick as I have to go buy steel today for the flooring of my trailer project.
What thickness steel should I use? I was thinking 16 gauge, is this too thin? I certainly dont want any more than 14 gauge, but want to get some opinions.
My trailer...
