    Roadless Gear Releases Wireless model

I installed a Mile Marker wireless set-up on my front winch and it works like a champ. One of the best mods I have done. I would totally trust the set-up, its not a complicated device, and doesnt need to cost hundreds of dollars. It does the same thing as a regular winch switch (trigger the...

Little modification for Camping Lab style RTT's

I have only used it once, and it worked great. Currently the RTT is on a boat with all of my other wordly posessions heading for the US, so I only had a little time to try it out. I havent noticed any frayings where the slits go. The changing room material is very lightweight (and the slit...

    The cosmetic cleanup of OverlandXJ

Re-read it, he is saying he does NOT like it on his vehicle. Thats why he borrowed the 416, so he can mount his RTT to it, and see if he likes it better than on the top of the XJ. I totally agree with both of you, I cant wait to get my RTT on a trailer, it will make life much easier. John...

Ram universal laptop mount tough tray

What size laptop will this tray work for? I know it says universal, but there are some pretty big differences in laptop size these days. Wondering why you went with the Tough tray II instead of this? I am interested if you still have it. ~James

Dang it! I am in Peachtree City right now! BUT... we are going to Birmingham Friday morning for my sister-in-laws graduation this weekend. I just passed by the warehouse yesterday, its about 2 mins (literally) from my inlaws home. I had no idea it was even there.... I have my share of...

Portable Kitchens for us RTT guys

I built one myself. Its pretty easy and simple, with using only basic hand tools. It holds EVERYTHING to do with cooking, plus much more and just slides into the back of my Jeep Cherokee. Here is the build thread. http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17530 And a few pics...

Winch Gurus, question for the older Warns

Yeah, he is in his late 60's, and this is just his play vehicle. It will never see a dirt road, much less anything needing a winch. He just wanted a new shiny winch, not the old nasty looking one on it. Believe it or not, I had to talk him out of putting an ATV winch on this thing.... some...

Winch Gurus, question for the older Warns

Redrocker, thats what I was thinking too... thanks for stepping up to take care of my trashy parts....be sure to wait by your mail box for that package! :victory: I will pick up the winch this weekend, but it will be a little while before I can mess with it. We just put in an offer on a house...

How do you properly clean recovery straps after getting muddy/dirty?

I wash my straps and synthetic line (not at the same time) in the washing machine on the delicate cycle, using Woolite for a detergent. Just let them air dry. Works a like a champ for me. ~James

Winch Gurus, question for the older Warns

John, that is the exact same winch as far as I can tell. Even down to the mounting plate and hawse fairlead. It looks identical, big honkin relay box on the front, and huge motor on top. It has the same ratcheting mechanism on the left side as well. The only number I could read on it said 8403...

Winch Gurus, question for the older Warns

Guys, I stumbled upon a great deal (read: FREE) Warn 8403 Winch, that is actually in good working order. It has been sitting on a covered shelf in my Dads friends barn for about the past 2 years or so. It actually appears to be in great shape for the age, and nothing is frozen up. I hooked it to...

Stumptaco's has gone over to the darkside..XJ style.

Thanks, its been installed for about 10 months now, and I do love it. I will get a new front section in a few months to replace the one I have now, I screwed up and cut it a little too much around the shifter and it doesnt cover a small area around the center console. No big deal, but it bugs...

Where are all the syncro people??

Wait a minute... I have a Syncro too! Ok, so its the Golf version of the syncro, but its still pretty cool. I picked it up as a beater car so I wouldnt have to daily drive my Jeep. I got it at the local junk yard for $400 dollars. Put a new muffler on it, passed inspection, and have been driving...
