    SnowPeak chairs

Yes, but they're even more comfortable on a very hot day when Brad has a seemingly infinite supply of premium ice cream at your disposal too! :chowtime: Thanks again, Brad, that was awesome.

bombproof mount for a handheld magellan

If you already have a cradle for it (you can remove the cradle from the suction cup mount if you already have it) or buy one, you can probably adapt it to the vehicle specific mount made by Pro-Fit. Pro-Fit makes mounts for just about all makes/models. I learned about them back in the day when...

    Off road/garage cleaning part 1

Siphon Is this the Deluxe Outback Pump that has an on/off nozzle. I'm assuming that's what's pictured here (taken from Extreme Outback's Website) at the end of the hose that look similar to the pump handle at a fill station. I just didn't see the on/off control nozzle in the picture you...

Adventure Shots I wouldn't call these action shots...more like adventure shots.

Big Bend NP Expedition Report 2/27/08-3/2/08

I think I did, but I wasn't sure how much to add. Based on the odometer readings (I'm sure this is off) and dividing that into the # of gallons at the next fill I got closer to 10mpg. Now, my speedometer is off by about 8% compared to my GPS. So, I figure if I add, just as you suggested...

    5Speed - 88 - V6 - 4Runner Gear/Tire Help

I am new to this recently and I don't know how accurate this calculator is; however, it might just give you some idea. It assumes (apparently correctly in your case according to DaveInDenver) a transmission ratio of .8 for a 5-speed. Assuming your tire size is about a 32", the calculator...

    Flyingwil's Taco is growing up!

#1 is best if you had more time. If they caused the problem, they should remedy the situation. #3 is probalby your best bet to get it back on the road. #2 I would only consider this as an option if you have enough time to do the work yourself, but want them to at least pay for the...

SIGG Hot and Cool Bottle--Stainless Steel

Yep, I have a kleen kanteen too. I really like it; however, I thought I'd give this one a try. I like the insulating properties of the double-wall construction. That, plus the fact that it's also stainless steel, were the deciding factors.

SIGG Hot and Cool Bottle--Stainless Steel

I just got this today at REI and can't wait to try it out. Double wall stainless steel construction. No liner to alter the taste of the beverage; heavier duty construction than their aluminum counterparts. You can even use it as a thermos in the moringin to keep extra coffee hot and then rinse...

    First time back from Kayaking

This last post reminded me of some solid advice I received when doing the research: don't skimp on the paddle. In fact, I have heard several times that a well made paddle that works for you can overcome many shortcomings that a particular boat may have. Think ridgid carbon fiber. This is the...

    First time back from Kayaking

If I were to get a touring kayak (since I already own a recreational sit-on-top fishing style), this one continues to catch my eye. The Necky Chatham 18 Composite. At almost 18' and a ridgid hull; this one looks like it would just glide on top of the water effortlessly.

    First time back from Kayaking

Try out other kayaks before you buy. You may find that there are other models out there that may still be stable enough for you (true that the Frenzy is very stable) but will offer you more capacity and are more efficiency. Look at the Tarpons, both 14' and 16'. Liquid Logic also has some...

    White Balance/Color being off Question

Solid point. I should have thought of that. Didn't quite think that through...that's the hazard of multi-tasking. You can only do 1 think 100% or 2 things 50%, etc. Actually what I find myself doing while editing RAW in Photoshop is to match the color temp of like pictures if I want...

    White Balance/Color being off Question

This suggestion will only work for taking landscape shots where you have the time, but an old technique is to take 2 photographs or a single photo first in the same or similar lighting before you take a series of photos. The first photo would also include an 18% grey card or you can also get...

Big Bend NP Expedition Report 2/27/08-3/2/08

Sure, that's about right. I filled up in Ft. Stockton. The other way to look at it is supporting the local businesses some too. I didn't mind paying the extra 20-30 cents/gallon (what is that about $5 extra per tank?) due to the fact that they paid the extra just to get it out there.
