    Old's Cool

Yep! My mom is on a never ending cattle dog ownership binge. That one is a rescue that's getting better with time as he slowly gives up biting small children. My wife and I have a black lab that's stuck thinking she's a puppy.

Bimmeryota, nice truck! What is your bimmer? I'm stuck in a never ending e30 spiral myself...although my wife is liking her old x5 at the moment too, what a road trip rig... Perpetuating the dirt bag dream with the newest addition to whitey: 1972 Aristocrat. Intending to live in this...

Yet another white 3rd gen pickup! What's the deal with those? I really like the high end Toyota-Subaru custom awning.

Another re-gearing question (regular cab Tacoma)

Yep, 4.56s aren't nearly enough of a bump to be worthwhile.

    re-gearing for 33"s on 1st gen

My 3.4 swapped 5spd '89 pickup has 4.88s and 33s and I find it just about perfect living in Salida at 7500 feet. Speedo is right on, gas mileage is surprisingly good and I don't have to beat on it like I did with the old 3.0. I wouldn't gear any lower unless I went up in tire size.

And so does the 22re. While the old 3.slow definitely has its points to complain about, I've have reasonably good luck with them. My last 4runner had 260k when I sold it and is still running around town here. They aren't exactly toyota's finest achievement but they do just fine if you can...

Sweet looking bed area! How does the storage work out?

    Old's Cool

This thread needs a bump! The runoff in colorado this year was going big so it was time to bail on work and migrate to a couple epic western slope waves. The Yota was loaded with beer and hit the road. Tons of snow on Independence pass still: Typical team dirtbag parking lot takeover...

    Old's Cool

Paddlenbike, nice rigs! How did the black one do with that camper? I'm always tempted to look for something like that but just not sure if the little pickup can handle it. My wildernest has got to be ~300 lbs or so, and it alone effects the handling to some extent. Mine still drives pretty...

    Bushwacker Products

I installed a set on an International Scout II recently and was really impressed with the quality. Kit came with all the required hardware, instructions, etc...and the truck looks great now. Nice job!

Nice to see the river rat population crawling out of their corners of the world. xlcaferacer, cool rigs man. That Uly looks like a sweet setup. The problem with motorcycle camping is carrying the booze. It was hard to fit a six pack on my old DR, had to go the hard stuff usually or invite...

    1989 4runner build

I did a timing belt job on my old 3.0 a couple of years ago and I remember a noise similar to what you're describing. I think it gradually went away or I got completely used to it. Maybe the new belt had to break in on the pulleys or something? I chased it around for a while and finally gave...

    ExPo 3.4 Swap Happy Hour

I can't remember the exact codes it throws offhand, some shift solenoid error was one of them and I think maybe trans speed sensor. The ecu is looking for the trans and it's just not there. You're running a 5spd with auto ecu and no codes? If so, I'm surprised. There's a guy on YT that...

1993 Toyota Pickup - Desk to Glory v2.0

Nice job accumulating some gas money! Have an Imperial or three for us. Where in CR is the red truck currently? We try to spend some time every year on the Nicoya Peninsula in the Samara/Nosara area surfing and playing. Need to find a way to spend winters down there.

    ExPo 3.4 Swap Happy Hour

It seems to me like there are more and more 3.4 swaps popping up around here on older pickups and 4runners. Maybe it's a good idea to consolidate information and questions into one place. Everyone probably knows that YotaTech is the sort of definitive source for 3.4 info, but I know personally...

    project: Redneck motorhome

Great looking truck! If I were you, I'd quit while you're ahead- build your platform and drink beer. That awesome truck doesn't need to get sucked down the rabbit hole of endless tinkering. Man I wish I would've held on to my red '85 extended cab.

    1989 4runner build

Nice job. The 3.4 feels like what should've come in these trucks. Are you actively looking for a supercharger yet?

My first truck happens to be a 89 4runner!

Knox, does your engine have a harness at all? I got the impression that it didn't. If that's the case, you'll need to find one. The ORS harness is simply an adapter they wire up according to your truck's body harness and whatever recipient harness/ecu is on the motor. I think it's also...

    83 Toyota Sunrader Project

That thing is frickin cool. Hard to find one that looks like that anymore. Just like you, I see the occasional Chinook or Dolphin pop up around here but they're usually 100% trashed. That mileage is insane. I loved the 20r + 4spd in my old first gen. Any pics of the inside?
