Very risky move putting a large down payment down on a trailer with a large lead time these days. I sure hope most of these quality builders make it through this but I think some will be insolvent soon. I sure hope Teton X makes it through as I am waiting to see their upcoming composite hybrid.
I love the design of the overkill camper. I haven't been able to get them to reply to an email in over a year though, which in this industry is a very bad omen when you would be sending them a large deposit.
Who thinks the wait time on a retail built trailer will drop quite a bit after this Covid issue gets worked out? I would imagine there will be a lot of economic heartache after this ends and disposable income might drop for this type of purchase. It may be very bad for these small startup...
The electrical connections should be fine since they are fairly well protected. Definitely any bolts or fittings that aren't aluminum or stainless. My main concern with wood is moisture penetration and dry rot.
Teton X had mentioned a while ago they may offer a composite version of the hybrid in the future. My main concern is that my sole use would be in a very humid beach environment. I would imagine an aluminum vertically stabilized frame would do better long term than a wood one in a high humidity...

I considered buying one for a while and talked to them at length. There were a few reasons why I took a pass on them.
#1 No real A/C unit available other than the climate right junk
#2 No power options other than the Goal Zero Portable Boxes
#3 They started adding things as costly...
