What can you tell me about the Chevy Avalanche?

Correct. Theyre Suburbans underneath. Can't beat the GMT800s for cheap reliability, practicality and ease of maintenance.

2000 Suburban K1500 budget low lift with 37"s

FIFY I remember back when I doing the axle swap on my XJ, how guys out west were going nuts over how cheap we could get the Ford HP60 front ends. I'd rather pay a premium and not deal with all the rust.

00-07 1500 silverado frames tough enough?

The 1500 is great if you want to KISS, at that point I'd recommend a high top camper shell over a RTT or flatbed. If you want a flatbed+camper, go straight to a 2500 or 3500.

Buying a used Discovery in 2020

I want to pick up a LR3 in a couple months. I had a D1 for 3 years and it was one of my 'dream trucks' as a kid, and I loved and miss it. But for comfort and such, the newer trucks are way way better. If you want to build a wheeler, you definately want an older solid axle truck.

2000 Suburban K1500 budget low lift with 37"s

I think you can get creative with trimming the avalanche bumper pretty heavily, or doing something prerunner-y

The bigger front brakes came on the trucks only. My Silverado has them, unfortunately it also means you got rear drums.

Best suburban base to start with?

You guys are at altitude and deal with mountain passes regularly. My commute is 75% stop and go and I average 14-15 in my truck with a little lift and larger tires. On long highway trips I'll hit 19. My neighbor has 275k on a 05 Z71 Tahoe he bought new and he gets 22 on road trips loaded keeping...

Best suburban base to start with?

What kind of roads/trails are you looking to tackle? Towing? Hauling a huge amount? Yea, a 2500 is cool, but 12 mpg isn't. A 1500 with with a little budget boost and 33s will kiss 20 MPG highway; and 1500s have a pretty high payload relative to everything else people load out on these forums...

I put an aftermarket adjustable power lumbar in my truck and it helped a little.

1st Gen Sequoia vs GMT800 Suburban Advice

You're not allowed to post non-Toyota things in that forum. The sheeple don't take kindly to that. All but confirmed for 2021.

The cladded avalanche front end is specific to only the avalanche (the non cladded models were the same as the cateye silverados) but everything should still swap over and will be pretty unique nonetheless.

    Need new tires

KO2s here on my 05 1500 Silverado, have almost 60k on them and they have 30-40% left. Very happy with them.

    LR3 to 3rd gen 4Runner: lateral move or upgrade/downgrade

Its posts like this that make me second guess wanting to move into a LR3 or LC100. These trucks just WORK plain and simple.

Hey Vortec Guys! / Sierra pickup / Suburban / Yukon etc - Finally has Index!

Wanted to share this one, that's the wiring harness that sits above the transfer case. Last winter I was getting 'service 4wd' messages. Read the code, changed the transfer case solenoid thing. No more codes. Came back a couple weeks ago, intermittently. Checked the switch with an ohm meter...

Should I buy this 03 D2 as my first rover?

D1 was my first Rover, even though I wanted a 2. I was back and forth a bit but I'm happy I went with the D1 instead, but sad I got rid of it. Bad timing when the head gasket let go.

    Suburban vs silverado 2500hd?

I daily an extended cab 800 and will be upgrading to something else when kids come along. Not enough room back there for a car seat and the dog. It's wide, but it's tight back there. I'm 6' and my wife is 5' 9"; so YMMV w shorter people in the cab. For just two people and a dog, it's a fantastic...
