    Budget overland vehicle advice

Been there, done that. Run whatcha brung. You don't need tons and 37s for everything, a rock stack here and there isn't anything to be ashamed of if you can accomplish your goal.

 You can do any of the famous passes in Colorado, and most "4wd required" trails in the country with ANY 4x4 with low range on 33" all terrains. I don't think this guy needs to be able to drop down Indy or run upper Helldorado in his ski-venture truck.

    Budget overland vehicle advice

Blah blah blah. The 99+ electronic 4wd system is pretty simple and reliable. Three things go wrong with it: -The transfer case motor thing is the most expensive and time consuming to replace. You can buy the whole assembly for ~$250 and swap it, or put new guts and reseal what's in there for...

    Budget overland vehicle advice

If you're on a budget, go domestic. The two passes you mentioned are just that, passes. Not serious off road trails. A 99-06 Tahoe with a torsion bar crank and 33s will do everything you ask for cheap and half the miles of a Toyota. Not much bigger than a 1st gen Tundra width wise, but shorter...

    2007 Suburban - MUDHORN

You have an incredible amount of choices for arms. Everything from cheap eBay stuff to high end billet from Mazzulla. Its the same from end as a 07-14 Silverado 1500. You don't need new lowers unless you want long travel.

    GMT800 People - Opinions wanted on upgrades/mods

Idk man, I put my truck thought some hairy stuff and I was very surprised the front bumper was not a hindrance, the wheelbase and rear hitch were. I dragged framerails a LOT. The trucks have big tow hooks already from the factory as well.

Full size SUV with best off road chops?

LC100s are amazing, but parts are a lot more expensive than domestic stuff. The interior of my truck looks like it has a lot less miles than the 100s I see for sale with 200k for $15k.

Full size SUV with best off road chops?

Similar on my '05 Silverado with the same miles, minus a couple things. To me, that sounds pretty reasonable but my trucks before this one were two heavily modified XJs, a very brief stint with a rusty T100, and a Discovery.

The Y62s are cool, but get worse fuel mileage and feel slower than the old GM stuff. They're 2nd get Sequoia sized on the inside. Nothing stands out about them here, all the cool stuff they get overseas we don't get here. Even the front and rear diffs are undersized compared to there ROW ones.

Oil burning? Well, that's everything with high miles. Add a quart every oil change big whoop. Stock trans at 160k here, plenty running around with more. 3/4 ton trucks have the 4L80 if you plan on beating on the truck when its low on fluid. Junk hubs are only 2wd trucks 05-06 clusters are all...

LR3 V. 4Runner Need To Buy One Now.

This is a great deal, and I'd be flying out to buy or get it shipped if it was a year from now when I'll be looking. If the interior were black it would be perfect.

Anybody else want a small USEABLE 4X4?

Oh yea. I DD'd a 95 Disco for a few years, and that isn't even that old.

Anybody else want a small USEABLE 4X4?

Everyone who wants a brand new old truck should just buy an old truck and put a LS or 2.8 Cummins in it. We will never have anything like simple old trucks (or cars!) again, ever. Actually I take that back. I can see a time in the not so distant future where simple electric runaround cars...

LR3 V. 4Runner Need To Buy One Now.

I think this is the biggest "pro" of the Yotas. Not many vehicles can take real off road abuse, over and over again, and not really complain about it. Now, lots of Toyota fanatics shout this to the rooftops but in reality 99% of them are just driving them to a dirt road and taking pics with...

    2020 Defender Spy Shots....

The LC300 could debut tomorrow at starting at $101,000 for a full-on luxury experience, 55 touchscreens, with a hybrid turbo V6 with less power, 101 ECUs, IFS/IRS, 21" wheels, and similar payload and towing numbers and Toyota dudes will ********** all over it saying how much better than the Defender...
