    2020 Defender Spy Shots....

I built a 110 base model, steelies, off road and tow package, up charge for heated seats, color, white roof, etc... came to under $60k. If you don't think that's reasonable you're crazy.

You think any other modern truck has less?? All new vehicles are filled with ECUs.

    2007 Suburban - MUDHORN

BDS's kit is nice, if I had one of those I'd probably start out with some Fox C/Os and a good UCA; and put whatever coils in the back to lift it a little. H2 coils I think?

It'll be interesting to see the tuning and how it works in the defender, instead of a $100k Rangie. I think the class of vehicle comes into play there.

    Piece it together

If the truck in your sig is the truck you currently have, keep it. You're trying to solve a problem you don't have, that truck already does everything you need. If you want a simpler truck, you need to also simplify what you plan on doing and carrying, otherwise you're just going to be opening...

    04 2500 suburban build

Any reason to keep so much lift? 4-6" gives you a much lower CoG and you can still fit 37s and the solid front axle.

My owner's manual in my D1 said I could tow up to 10k in an emergency under 30 MPH. I'm a LOT more confident a brand new 2.0T can do that much weight than the 3.9 V8. I'm not a fan of the new Disco's styling at all but you are crazy if you aren't impressed by their abilities on and off road.

    GMT800 People - Opinions wanted on upgrades/mods

Agreed. I've seen plenty of HPDE fuel tanks dragged over rocks with the full weight of a XJ pressing down on it (and I've knocked mine around a few times) and they don't even get gouges in them. In these trucks you need a front diff skid, transfer case skid, and the rock rails... in that order...

    Comparison shopping: Colorado, Gladiator, Tacoma

Whats with the dissertation? I thought I was in the Toyota forum for a second. Buy what you want. Every new truck is a great one and you really can't go wrong with anything. They all have plusses and minuses.

    New trucks and 4low...

Plenty of full-time and 4 auto systems out there, ones with electronic helpers, or clutches, or gerotor couplers, or viscous fluid, open diffs, whatever. If the ability to mechanically lock (via lever, dial, or button) 50/50 isn't available, it's useless. It makes me pretty sad that GM moved to...

    New trucks and 4low...

It looks like the new transfer case, even the "two speed one" is just using electronics and a clutch pack for 4hi, rather than a true mechanical lock according to the documents posted on the first page. That is really disappointing

They come with two "zero rate leaves," essentially two little leaf spring pieces. I left them on since I removed the factory 2" block.

I'm running factory replacement Bilstein 4600s. I could gain a couple inches of droop by going longer, but I don't really need it and these shocks still have life left in them. Plenty of room left in the brake hoses and parking brake cables. Its probably 1-2" over the stock Z71 height right...

The Deaver mini-pack is expensive but 110% worth it. I put new OEM leafs and the Deaver mini pack on my '05 and it made an unbelievable difference. The long travel shackles will lower the truck, and not necessary unless you get longer leafs. My truck will flex to the bump stops hit and shocks...
