    Lucky8's Project L322

Doesn't Devon's site specifically state they are for Diesel models only and will not fit 'petrol' motored trucks?

To Rover or not to Rover... LR3 purchase consideration...

Supposedly most of the factory improvements have been done by 2007. However, other than the flaking coating on the differentials, nobody has really said what improvements were made from '05-'06 (other than software, which can be upgraded). I recently bought a 2006 HSE w/65K miles. I paid $20K...

Goodyear MT/Rs in 19"? The ones that have been discontinued? New old stock?

After seeing the MK4 RR, I'm curious to see what the LR5 loses. ;)

Could newer Rovers survive the Camel Trophy of the past?

If it was to happen today, I would guess that the ECUs would be replaced with weather-proof militarized versions. I would guess this was even done back then if there was anything that required it. Most types of race cars already do this, even many 'stock' classes. I tend to agree though, the...

Range Rover Sport 2010 potential buyer

RRS 2006-2009 is essentially a 2 row, albeit nicer appointed, LR3 - with all the same strengths and weaknesses. So I would start your research there. Same thing goes for the 2010+ RRS and the LR4.

I am land rover illiterate. looking at all my options

As someone who did tons of reading before purchase I can say that the LR3 is where a former Toyota owner should be headed. The difference in 'reported' reliability is drastic - with the caveat that a diagnostic/code clearing tool is budgeted into the purchase price.

    Accidentally bought a Discovery...

I've seen this on the LR3/Disco 3, but haven't heard about it on a Disco 2. If it works the same, then you need to do a few things. First, program the third button to the air suspension. Hold the 3rd button down and then hit the air suspension button on the dash/console. Second, with the...

Check out what I scored today

A immaculate condition, yet fully unrestored, Series 1. One that also happens to have touch soil in 135 different countries while covering over 1,000,000 original miles in the hands of not 1, not 2, but 3 different celebrity world-travelers? If not, well then......oh man.....out of guesses...

Is there a vin decoder to tell me if an LR3 has the hd package?

The best that I can figure out is that LR keeps a database of all the options for each VIN. This is so a dealer can install/reinstall/update the proper software for various components. Specifically the instrument cluster because that's where all the settings are stored. So, the VIN itself is...

    Discovery 3 (LR3) and Discovery 4 (LR4) Registry

According to the on board computer, I average about 14.5 MPG. That is split about 60% highway (w/ lots of stop and go congestion) and 40% city driving. '06, V8, HSE, 75,000miles. On a trip with 90%+ highway, the computer calculates slightly over 18 MPG until you slow down in a town.

Llams does allow on-the-fly. It works by intercepting the 4 height sensor signals before they reach the controller/computer. The box adds/subtracts voltage, PWM (or whatever the signal is) and feeds the modified signal to the ECU for the car to control the valves as OEM. The car itself still...

    2006 LR3 build

There is also some discussion on Disco3UK that the Range Rover Sport arms are the same, but with better/stiffer bushings. Considering the generally better handling of the RRS, this seems likely.

    2006 LR3 build

Don't have any specific LR3 advice, but in general a fuel economy drop and a CEL at the same time would point to an O2 sensor.

While I do not disagree with the need to change wheels and tires, the 'dubs' DID make it through the trail and weekend - and survived. I'll be looking forward to your report when you do install the new shoes.

    2013 Range Rover

I've yet to see a new Range Rover (stock-for-stock) that isn't more capable than the one that preceded it. And that's even with the tires getting more street based and low profile.

LR3 roof rack vs rear tire carrier question

Isn't that just the difference between a 5 seater (adjustable headrests) and a 7 seater (fixed)?

    2006 LR3 build

Congrats! Interesting on the mileage and year. 2 months ago I bought a 2006 w/68K. I'm assuming yours has the V8? I feel exactly the same as you about the vault-like feeling and the driving position. I however came from a '90s Montero, and this is my first Rover. Looking forward to seeing the...
