2016 Mitsubishi Pajero/Montero spied - Most likely coming to North America

Just saw this, was recently thinking about my dad's Montero Sports from a few years ago... Loved those trucks. Here's to hoping you can get a factory rear diff lock! This is the first new SUV besides the LR4 that I wouldn't mind getting into.

Discovery Sport vs. Grand Cherokee Overland vs. 4Runner TRD

Really? My dad had a 98.5 (I think) off road pack... 32s, rear locker, tire carrier, 5 spd. I loved that truck. If I was a little older when he traded it in I would have taken it. 90k miles without a single issue.

Discovery Sport vs. Grand Cherokee Overland vs. 4Runner TRD

Source for the confirmation of a US-bound Montero? I love the Challenger/Montero Sport... Idk why they stopped bringing those here.

Is there a way to bomb proof a 2004 engine?

Yup. I know it can be done, but at what cost to all of the stock electronics? You'd lose quite a bit of functionality I imagine.

Is there a way to bomb proof a 2004 engine?

Someone has one in a LR3

Is there a way to bomb proof a 2004 engine?

With the right amount of money, anything can be done. You can swap in a LSx motor or pay ~$5-6 grand for a Cannibal V8 motor.

Life with a Chevy powered Discovery 1

Must be the Landy blood taking over that Chevy heart. Ha. Those 4.3s are usually pretty trouble-free. It's a nice looking rig though, and probably pretty rust free, so it's worth it. They only imported something like 55,000 Discos from 94-99; Jeep sells around that many Wranglers in four months...

Life with a Chevy powered Discovery 1

Been seeing some of these pics pop up on instagram. That truck did seem a bit too good to be true, but it looks like it just needs some little things here and there (besides the trans...) Good luck with it. As always, super jealous of your guys in the SW. I'll be back there... one day. If gas...

A Jeep that might make someone switch brands

All the control arms are fully boxed now... And the stock brackets bend before the stock arms do... most of the time.

What AT tires have 3 ply sidewalls?

I blew a hole in my load range E AT3s after 2k miles, but I probably would have blown anything there for a Toyo MT or something as beefcake as that. ~12 PSI pinched the sidewall between the rim and a rock going faster than I should have been. Still love the tires anyway.

A Jeep that might make someone switch brands

The VM 2.8 is praised pretty highly on the internets of euro-spec Jeeps. Everyone says its the "best/most well built part" of the Jeeps. If Jeep did build this one, it would be a $50k truck, no doubt. That premium is what is keeping me from the brand. Personally, I'm waiting for the new Grand...

    Is it really that bad?

One year and 15K miles of ownership on mine, about 131,5xx on it. All my Jeep buddies flipped when I bought mine (switched to the Disco after my 2nd XJ), and I'm looking forward to continuing to making them eat crow when I'm still DDing it years from now. Mine was a one-owner, LR dealer...

    Overland Journal: Discovery I, 5-speed

My head is in a pretzel. And I am super impressed with my Discoverer AT3s. They don't look weird or cool though.

    Overland Journal: Discovery I, 5-speed

Whatever tire size is in that picture looks perfect to me. I think 245/75 would be too small with a lift... It looks perfect on a stock height truck.

12V Compressor vs HP Air Tanks - Pros & Cons?

I love my CO2. Using an old 35lb fountain soda aluminum bottle. Costs me $30 to fill locally (and it costs a little extra to get certified and tested every couple years). I got 1.5 seasons out of it on 35s, now on 31s in my Disco it is going to last a long time between fills. I'm on the beach a...

    Series 1 Disco Engine Swap?

the 4L60 doesn't fit. The front driveshaft would hit the transmission pan.

Where does it become to modified?

Yup. With a full tank of gas and loaded down for a wheeling trip I was close to 5100 lbs. Thats a lot for the 4.0 even with the 5.13 gears. I've taken my Disco wheeling and it's a blast doing it with a stocker on easy trails, and a lot less stress. No more trying a line, being bored, and then...
