    "New Technology Rage/Hate/Praise Thread"

We totally made nice so I am super chill about this. But I just wanted to clarify my rants here are all based on pet peeves with technology I personally have. I literally hook up computers to cars every day with the same tools dealers have to diagnose and root cause problems. I use software...

    "New Technology Rage/Hate/Praise Thread"

To hopefully clarify, I have never used nor even heard of Forscan before this thread. I don't own Fords and have OEM software for Fords at work

You assumed I meant by any method. I meant only using the vehicle. Which was going to get reset during a key cycle, if a method existed. Either of us could have clarified earlier. For my role in that I apologize. But c'mon dude you misunderstood me as well.

There is nothing wrong with changing it. I never argued that. Where do you even get the idea to manufacture these false conflicts? The OEM design is what it is. Changing it makes it not OEM. Its not a tool vs software issue It is not hard to understand. Jnich was criticizing me for even...

    "New Technology Rage/Hate/Praise Thread"

Completely ignores all the driving flexibility you get with a manual parking but sure, OK. My point was critiquing the vehicles as delivered by the OEM and that they are not changeable from the user through a normal interface. You were completely acting like its just a menu setting to tick...

LOL. Yeah scan tools and 3rd party software are not consumer level design.

Except all the ones that had a TCM module think the vehicle was not in park when it should be and fire off the brake immobilizing the vehicle until the TCM issue or actual shifter switch is replaced requiring a tow back to the dealer. ?

2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 3.0L EcoDiesel

Sure. Basically anything that actually goes wrong, or if the computer thinks something is wrong will send it into various stages of power limiting up to and including barely being able to get the truck to move. DEF injector gets crystal deposits and the NOX reduction doesn't match what is...

2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 3.0L EcoDiesel

This would have been a dream a decade ago. There is no way I would take one of these into the bush now. Maybe if I had access to full OEM diagnostics or if it was fully deleted or running stand alone engine management. There are just too many things on these that will put you into a nearly...

    CVT Summit Series discussion

If the doors velcro closed I would say it is not worth it. I have had my tent in 45MPH blizzards and single digit temps. Trying to close the tent and seal the doors from air is the only issue I have ever had. I would make an interior liner if you are after more insulation. Really cold temps I...

Unless the vehicle software decides not to turn them off. I think my objection is 50% they are tied into a million logic trees nowadays, any one of which can convince the vehicle that it should not release the brake. The actual mechanisms are not too awful. But the stupid intelligence...

    "New Technology Rage/Hate/Praise Thread"

Lol. Yeah I can't stand the beeping either. Fords alert chime they put on every vehicle is so cloying, chipper and annoying I literally cringe every time I drive one and honestly I hate it so much it is an impediment to me ever owning a Ford. Well, above the fact they make nothing I want to...

I hate electronic parking brakes. Right off the bat you lose a host of advanced/fun driving techniques that are just lost forever. Another expensive electronic thing to diagnose and to replace when it fails. What I can't stand the most is when you get into a car and it rocks back and forth...

    FWC Shell or Habitat

For me I think the AT Atlas or Summit is where it is at. The Habitat opens in a stupid direction requiring a weird shaped site and ruins ability for a 270 awning. The long skinny shade cover area it provides is kind of useless IMHO. FWC is expensive and heavy for what it is.

Review of the Freespirit Recreation High Country Tri-Layer Roof Top Tent

I have seen several free spirit models on the Coyote Works YT channel. I am always in awe of how fast it packs up and seems to have solved most of the things I hate about my CVT. Nice to see another review. I am at a cross roads of either modding my tent to make it easier to use. Ditching it...

¿What tire size do you wish existed? But does not.

Agree! To this end I get super frustrated with manufacturers that make it difficult to get the specs. Also the metric profile tire size is just stupid. Should just be wheel size, tire diameter, tread width and section height all in mm (except the wheel). Be so much simpler.

¿What tire size do you wish existed? But does not.

I beat my head against a wall over this ALL THE TIME. It's nice to hear it from someone else.
