If you have further problems with that rear axle I would just swap the whole thing out for a junk yard axle. You can chase down bearings and seals in a bent axle forever. Most people don't carry heavy loads etc. The chance of success with a used axle is pretty high and much nicer on the pocket...
Not for nothing but that is a 5 lug 2wd truck that someone turned into a Bro-Runner. Components are completely different and weaker than on 4WD. Although 4WD should not be ignored either ;)
Styling for me is not that important. I mainly want the styling to not piss me off. Man does the front end of the current crop fail in that regard. I am convinced you could take a giant bandsaw and cut 10-12"s off of the front of these trucks and not hit a vital component. There is just so much...
Gears and the Truetrac hands down. Re-gearing will literally make every moment of driving more fun and less stressful on the vehicle. Frankly re-gearing should have been one of the first things done. The Truetrac isn't 100% needed but for what it costs it is a no brainer to do at the time of...
Harsh much?
I bought a high mileage Taco from an expo member then immediately took it on a coast to coast trip, took probably 5 other long distance trips, drove it to Central Mexico for a work trip, and then back to Michigan. Every trip involving hundreds of miles of challenging lo range travel...
Drove trucks for almost 20 years and this was the same experience I was exposed to. Several fleets either abandoned stand alone heaters or switched to Espar. I drove for mostly flatlander low elevation fleets too.
Unfortunately I am in Central Mexico where the take rate for 4WD on a model where 2WD exists also is like 3%.
Northern and Southern Mexico is where most of the 4WDs are here.
Hermosillo is 22 hour drive from where I am. :(
They didn't get any of the cool diesel Toyotas. In fact other than...
I always liked these vehicles but never went down the rabbit hole of researching them.
Currently in Mexico for work and think I want to buy a vehicle and leave it here for my somewhat frequent travels, I hate automatic transmissions as a personal preference but I have no idea how robust either...
I do not understand 270 awnings that have such awful coverage at the rear of the vehicle. It completely defeats the whole point of a 270 awning providing wrap around coverage.
For me I would only run these as a good almost snow tire substitute. Those sidewalls suck. I have run into 4 of these on the trail with flats due to a pinched sidewall. Then a whole bunch more on trail videos and word of mouth. All flat the exact same way. Some 18" ones just from hitting potholes.
Drives me crazy they are ignoring 52% of the car market and 87% percent of the phone OS market by not even half heartedly starting Android auto compatibility.
Very poorly phrased on my part. I just meant sizes one may be interested in in a brand/type one is interested in. For sure there will always be someone selling something. But for me, probably not what I want.
235/85R16 ST/Maxx are a good decently aggressive tread that will still gobble of freeway miles. Narrow 32" tires. Mine are holding up better than BFG KO2 I ditched these for.
Edit*my bad I missed the 15" wheel statement. I would probably find 16 wheels as was suggested. 15" tires are going to...
Haha. My Tacoma was at the dealer getting the frame replaced right before I had a rallycross to race in. They offered a Camry and a Yaris as loners. I asked if I could sit in both to see if I "fit". What I was really checking was to see which vehicle had a cable parking brake and you could left...
