Jay, The pintle hitch allows for all-axis articulation of the trailer, something prized in off-pavement travel, as well as being a stronger hitch. You see it commonly on military vehicles. On the downside, it bangs around a bit back there, so isn't normally used for most on-road applications...

It doesn't look Mitsu to me. I also see a ground wire with a ring connector that is definitely not OEM. That might be something that the PO had added.

See the black rubber corrugated bellows thingy? At the far end of that is the gold-colored vacuum actuator with the two hoses attached. At the near end of the bellows you can see a rubber tab that is used to help you slide the thing on and off the sealing groove. Just pop that off and push it...

That's a beauty...and with nice, low miles too! Transmission service (genuine Mitsu fluid), fluid change in diffs and transfer case. Lube the vacuum actuator rod (front axle) for the 4WD system as it's often stuck/sticky. Inspect the CV joints. And take my word for it: reach up and pull down...

Without debating details in making this decision, the only thing I'd suggest is that you need a better antenna than the OEM stump that comes on any of these radios. A nice little whip that's still a manageable size is very inexpensive and means the difference between getting through or not. I...
