    Power usage?

Amps is current flow(movement of electron). Volts is basically difference in charge(how positive or negative as referenced to something) Amps X volts is power in watts A auto battery has about 12v DC between the positive and negative posts, depending on its state of charge( full charged is...

    Project Microtrac

Cruising around town would be cool, here in the US I would end up in jail. When I was a teen my dad and I made a trike with a BMX bike front end and a typical go cart type rear, I had a blast with that thing and it would go anywhere . I kept breaking the spokes and bending the rim on the front...

    2012 Power Wagon Build Thread

You really getting 17.5 on the highway?, that's awesome, my '12 2500 Hemi CC 4x4 gets around 12.8 pretty much all the time. 3.73 and stock 30" tires. Most Power Wagon posters were saying 8-10, maybe 12 on the highway, you change anything? Not calling you out:), just wondering how? Keith

Charging Truck Camper batteries via 120v from truck

I already have the Magnum Charger Inverter (MM1212) up and running. I have the ARC remote and BMK battery monitor(Magnums version of the Trimetric) Its pretty neat to monitor what's going on, although I was surprised to see that the lower end gear doesn't monitor AC input amps and volts, but...

Charging Truck Camper batteries via 120v from truck

Thanks for the reply, I should have id the truck better , it's a Ram Hemi. I need to measure the output of the alternator, my AGM s need 14.7 volts, I'm not sure if it outputs that high at the alternator, never mind at the end of 18 feet of cable. I have played with the voltage drop calculators...

Charging Truck Camper batteries via 120v from truck

I figured this must have come up, but search didn't find much. I have a truck camper on a 2500 Crew Cab truck. It's a lot of big wire to get from my truck alternator/ battery back to the camper bank. I have a Magnum charger/inverter in the camper, 88 percent efficient. A typical 2000 watt...

Off-GRID ENGINEERING Dual Battery Systems (An Introduction)

I eventually need a dual battery wiring harness/ relay for my Ram 2500 with truck camper. (connect (2) 6v in series in truck bed camper thru large Anderson connector to truck via Blue Sea relay. It's a crew cab, so a pretty long run, how big of wire do you carry? Are the crimps done...

Flatbed and composite panel build on Dodge 2500

Awesome build, I appreciate the pics of the business side of things, I wanted to ask a while back, but didn't want to be rude. There were several background shots and references to your work, that gave big hints, but I never really put the whole big picture together. Of course you may have...

    Alaskan Camper '84/'14 Build Thread

Here is how I did the sheet metal ends. I used my Harbor Freight 30" brake. The two end bends were done in reverse order from the sides. The first bend is the 3/4" wrap that ends up on the inside, this was done by bending around a spacer block the exact thickness of the panel. Worked out great...

    EarthRoamer XV-JP "Northwest Edition"

Mike's build took a left turn, most of us feel bad for him(myself included), but there are always two sides to every story, neither my responses nor the several above are going to do anything except get this thread locked, because now there too many daggers being thrown. I'm out Good luck...

Off-GRID ENGINEERING Dual Battery Systems (An Introduction)

Anything will help, maybe slit a piece of rubber tube and put it on the edge??. The whole battery box and retaining rods and strap are one big negative, so it's really contact with the red positive post that is a concern. That's what Stoffregen was referring to. Sent from my Passport
