    Big Dave's M416 Build

So my M416 has been sitting in the weeds in my backyard for the last few years. I think we've spent one night in it in the last 3-4 years. That needs to change. We still have the ZJ, but picked up a JKU last week that will eventually replace the ZJ. I need to pull the M416 out of the weeds...

Need some input on building a Weekend Warrior WJ on $4 grand budget

Agreed. With the smaller tires you can keep your D35 intact as well, and not have to worry about regearing. That will save you a ton of money right off the bat. If you want to check out a bunch of other WJ's, check out Grand Slam West in Moab this June, really neat event with Grands from all...

    98 Jeep ZJ "SHTFV"

I have seen a LOT of ZJ builds, and built a few myself. VERY impressive build, you should certainly be proud of what you've done. My ZJ currently is on long arms and 35's, and is used for a combination of some harder rock crawling and towing an M416 for the expedition type stuff. I am on the...

Spring over axle shock on M416

Even with the tent being a foot off the lid I can't imagine there being enough room to use the annex. I have SOA on my M416 with 33's and an a RTT mounted to the lid and all I can do is sit under the RTT. I use the stock shocks and springs on mine, just relocated the shock mounts on the axle...

San Juans in the Fall Colors - 2012

It was a little less drama than our trip last year where we tore up the Jeep's brake lines and then snapped some ring gear bolts. All in a day's wheeling right?

San Juans in the Fall Colors - 2012

Our campsite at Mineral Creek Fall colors. Crazy to see how much they changed in just a few days. Cutler Creek. Fed not by snowmelt, but by tears of a certain Bears QB. Still got some stuff to go through from the other camera and the GoPro, but that covers most of it.

San Juans in the Fall Colors - 2012

This trip went a little different than our others. After some of the events early on I decided to take advantage of having my keyboard-equipped tablet with me and documented some of it as we went. Some of the stuff in parentheses was added after the fact, but most of it was written in camp...

    Vehicular Fluids

That's where I've kept my fluids for a couple years, and while it does technically work, it leaves a lot to be desired.

RTT vs Ground Tent to outfit your Expedition Trailer

I've seen a bear in that area as well, luckily this one was only about 200lbs. I wouldn't completely eliminate the idea of an RTT because of a bear though, which in a previous post it almost sounded like you are. Neither a ground tent or RTT is really all that safe with a large predator. I...

    Atxrider m416 trailer build

I'm using the same hinges on my M416, and have been happy with them mounted in the orientation that yours are, but good call on going with 3 of them. If I had to redo mine, I would do the gas springs on the outside like you have as well. Mine suffered some damage from the cargo being on the...

    Replacement Axle for M416

I've got the first 3 things on my axle and am happy with it running stock TJ gambler wheels with no issues. If you want to swing by sometime and check it out let me know (I'm assuming shakey on co4x4 too). I liked the parking brake idea but was running into a time crunch with mine and could...
