    Rock sliders

Those do look nice. I like them tucked in close and the simpler the better. Do you have any underside pics?

    Modern Farm Truck

The LS6 swap would be the best way to spend his money, but the 3UR would be the coolest Toyota to Toyota swap ever.

    Modern Farm Truck

A 4x8 sheet of .250 thick A36 steel weighs about 350lbs. In the past I have had to drill a hole in one side and use a clevis and the cherry picker to move one around (I work alone), but now that I have the forklift, flat storage makes sense. I have a shop layout redesign in the works, but with...

    Modern Farm Truck

That's funny. I try to keep a good assortment because getting steel is a 3 hour ordeal for me. I just bought a plasma table so now I get to figure out where to store the 4x8 sheets...

    Sliders

I don't think you're being overly cautious. The whole point here is to make the cars and trucks we drive to be BETTER than when they left the factory. Any compromise always has me weighing the options.

    *Rickashay's 04' Tundra* - A build of Compromises

Exactly. I can make anything, but if it's already out there, and it will save the customer $$$, then why not just buy it?

    Modern Farm Truck

The Tundra SAS is still in the planning stages. It's the same customer as the farm truck above and he is a die hard Toyota guy. He's got a 2008 2wd short bed/ short cab Tundra with a supercharger and TRD everything, a 2011 FJC, a 1987 4Runner (Superrunner), the modern farm truck and a 2005...

    *Rickashay's 04' Tundra* - A build of Compromises

Those shackle mounts are cool. Who makes them? I have made them before, but if they're for sale, they're probably cheaper to buy.

    Sliders

Out here in the west, corrosion isn't much of a problem, but I do like to squirt some paint on the insides. Sometimes I just use a straw attached to a rattle can nozzle and get whatever I can. I grew up in MN, where rust is really bad, and I remember they used to sell some wax or oil spray that...

BJ74 TD Build Thread - Stoffregen Motorsports

Thanks, it is nice and purdy. I like them when they're all painted up and clean. You're right about the turn signals. Maybe I can hole saw a window in the corners of the bumper.

    CJ5 Resto-Mod Project

I didn't mean to sound like I was downgrading the Jeep. They are a whole different thing. I think the term is Jeep thing. My first 4x4 love was Jeeps. There's so much heritage there.

    Sliders

I've always thought people tend to over-do the sliders. Agreed, overkill in certain areas is not always a bad thing, but with careful driving, you can get away with much less. My simple method for sliders uses one 2" round DOM tube that starts at the frame and comes out to just outside the...

Thanks. The cable is actuating Supra caliper's parking brake, which have a much lower position on the lever than the original drum brakes, hence the low, angled cables.

    CJ5 Resto-Mod Project

Thanks Brian. It's hard to keep up with you guys. I have 3 threads I'm trying to keep up on and 3 more full build scheduled for this year, so finding time to post is challenging.

    CJ5 Resto-Mod Project

A long time ago I had a 1980 CJ5 with a Iron Duke 4 cylinder and it wasn't horrible. It had a 5 spd and D300 t-case which made it ok on the trail. But yes, they are surprisingly capable on simple dirt two-track roads. It's very cool that you can use this CJ7 for daily driving. Your signature...

Nope, I'm still here. I'm the guy wearing the trench coat hiding in the corner. Thanks.

    CJ5 Resto-Mod Project

Nice. I knew there was something going on with old, stock CJ's. What year is that? My goal is to have the CJ ready for sale by Jeep Jamboree this year. I'll park it on the slabs, right outside the spillway.
