The gvwr is 5700lb and you're at 5800lb empty. Yeah, you're too heavy. Your brakes and the frame and everything else is designed to a given weight plus a payload and you're exceeding that while driving down the highway at 70mph. Get a truck if you want to carry so much crap.

RCI Metalworks makes a half-height rack for RTTs for fords. Can't comment further, as I haven't ever seen one in person and I bought a Leitner before I knew about the RCI rack.

I added polycarbonate roofing panels to the sides of my leitner rack to enclose the bed and that added 15% back to my gas mileage after driving around with just the frame and tent, so it's not impossible to see a gain. I wouldn't expect to see a whole lot from ordering the airflow over the top...

With that wheelbase and, more importantly, the A/BO/D angles of that thing I'd rate it more as a soft roader than an offroader. Taking it deeper than forest service roads that haven't been graded for a couple of years is probably asking for trouble.
