    Custom Suburban Poptop Camper (Photos)

I did but man it would be a nightmare! when my body gets a little more beat up I may very well consider it though. I know geno just did it so I might bug him some more about how bad the process was. It's really not a bad idea uhauler.

Hey Vortec Guys! / Sierra pickup / Suburban / Yukon etc - Finally has Index!

Rayra the new stance looks killer! As so do the drawers by the way! I may be looking for some H2 springs as well at some point. Maybe I should go with the 2" spacers that geno is suggesting as well. I am sagging a bit with all my topper and loaded up gear in the back.

I appreciate the kind words everyone! Kind of in awe myself that it all worked out. Hands down spent more time on this than any other project I've tried to take on to date. What is too many hours? 3,000? No real way to guess but it's a lot. My battery died again today for the fifth time in a...

    Custom Suburban Poptop Camper (Photos)

You know I went back and forth about the color for just about ever. Ended up choosing this tan shade of monstaliner bedliner to coat it with. Really wish it matched as well but the heat is crazy when its black. Thoughts on just painting the sidewalls charcoal to match?? Haha, I do love your...

Rayra, thanks for info on those. I was hoping that that small strip of black butyl you can barely see hanging off the edge is enough protection. See if I can't find some sort of pinch mold though.. So I "finished" the interior yesterday and got everything all cleaned up. By finished I mean I...

Storage Drawers / Platform for my GMT800 Suburban - WIP

Damn Rayra looking great! Siked to see this thing finished, looks real close. Moldings look great, vent idea is great, table leaf mating bracket for bed would be perfect, seems like you are 100% on track. The fully loaded draws are really making me think about my storage, can't believe the...

Thanks for the replies guys, I have been tidying up loose ends and working on other projects so not much to update on. Still haven't gotten some good inside photos yet. Still have to trim the canvas where it meets the car, get the bed in and see if it closes etc. Probably won't fit hah. Ya Ray...

I do the same thing when in cruise control, tap the breaks to turn off cruise then gas up slightly. I agree with you geno, got to be one of the things that bugs me the most on trips. Let me know if you find another way to solve the issue. And 1000 mile range is a dream for me, nice work! I...

I actually need a DPDT switch I believe, but after messing around with the toggle cover I think I would rather switch it out for a rocker at some point. Too late right now as I'm trying to hit the road here soon but something more concealed in the future will have to replace it. Thanks for the...

Storage Drawers / Platform for my GMT800 Suburban - WIP

haha talk about squeaking by there with the ammo can. Nice fit! Thats a good idea for the bed extender. Essentially the 60/40 seats are the exact same, minus the fold out "drawbridge" for me which are long broken off and gone. Ive replaced them with street signs acquired over the years from...

Storage Drawers / Platform for my GMT800 Suburban - WIP

Your thorough planning and prep is very apparent in your project, regardless of the small setbacks. Really, for such a precise project I'd expect more of them. I have to say I'm very impressed at the craftsmanship here Ray, its pretty incredible, but damn, why do I feel like I have to up my...

Also another way to do your images is upload them to google photos if you have a google account. Then click the share button, when it gives you a link copy and a paste it to a new window. Then click the image from that new window, it will now open into your large image, right click on that, copy...

So I actually had the choice of a rocker switch but went with a toggle because I wanted to find it by feel easier for when popping the top from the outside. Just reach in, feel the switch and set it. Purchased a cover though. Ray thats actually looking pretty nice! You getting photos up on your...

What did you have in mind? Ray thats exactly what I was looking for, some sort of cover so it doesn't get knocked/turned on. This was just the switch they sent me from Firgelli Automations with the limiter, its not that cheap actually. And yes it is ON-OFF-ON just flick it up and it goes till...
