Nope. You need to remove the waterpump and therefore the timing belt etc.... The tube runs from the back of the water pump to the back of the engine. Taking the intake & plenum off will not get you anywhere.

Like others have said, its not hard, just tedious. Lots of screws and some are a little hidden. Take your time and keep the screws orderly during removal so you can put them in the correct spots during assembly. A warmer day helps if your doing it outside because the plastic panels are more...

most likely this is a D1153 Silicon NPN Darlington Transistor. Should be able to find one on google, ebay etc...

basically an Aisan Warner AW4? They were in a LOT of vehicles - Swap bellhousing and tail stock.
