It feels OK. I don't think my factory arms were bad (yet) so the difference wasn't really noticeable.
Looking at the design of the Supreme arms, I'm starting to wonder if they actually aren't as stiff laterally because of the smaller footprint on the bushing. The PMT arms use a square tube and...
The rear trailing arms are really the only rusty things on the truck. And going offroad with these doesn't give me a lot of confidence. So I replaced them with some pieces from Supreme Suspension.
I haven't updated this in awhile, but I've done a couple minor things.
Piled another bunch of miles on it just after New Years. I drove down to Alexandria, LA and back 2 days later. It just soaks up the highway miles. I intended on sleeping in it while I was there but got a hotel room- and...
I have an Expedition. It's my daily, family road trip and family camping rig. Unfortunately my budget is split between it and my Explorer- which is my hardcore off-roader.
See the links in my signature.
I added some D-rings like this:
And then I have 4 modified ratchet strap dedicated to holding the cooler on one side and my kitchen/food box on the other.
Which is EXACTLY why I bought my Expedition. Initially I was looking for a 3rd or 4th gen Explorer (wanted 3rd row seating for the rare occasion we need it). But for the same price I got my Expedition.
I believe (but I'm no 3rd gen expert) that the IRS axles pass through a hole in the frame which limits articulation and its liftability. But some people have fit 33s (35s?!?!?).
I have a 2nd gen. It does great.
But everyone's need for a vehicle is different. There is no "perfect" vehicle.
For those that have front lockers, how often do you actually use it?
I've wheeled with people that have front lockers. But they only use them while snow wheeling.
I'd make sure you have a good rear locker before adding anything to the front of an IFS.
Gabe, I hope you actually do all of that. It sounds amazing. Too many of us get saddled with work responsibilities, a mortgage and so many other things that tie us down and prevent us from doing what we all come to this forum to do.
