    Measuring for axle?

Having purchased from ABC myself, I would HIGHLY recommend them. 62" is the stock length, but you can order 1-2" wider for just a $10 upcharge. I will definitely be buying from Randy @ ABC again. He's great to deal with. Craig

    Measuring for axle?

I have been told 1 1/2" on each side.

    Axle legnth for a 416?

You'll have to consider the stock backspacing (trailer) vs. your Toyota wheel backspacing when deciding width, too. Craig

    In the beginning...

Good to see you over here (in addition to cj-8.com), jeepdreamer, and thanks again for your service! :sombrero: What size tires are you planning on running? I didn't see you mention it, so I'm not sure why Dana 44s front & rear (which would require outboarding) are being suggested without...

    M101A2 Expedition Trailer?

I'm using a M101A3 as the basis for my trailer, but it'll be used primarily on the road (with very mild offroad). I'll be pulling it with an '05 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Craig

    Commuters

Amen (and thanks)...LOVE the Steelman! Brent is an artist, and was great to deal with.

    Commuters

I don't commute to work often on it, but have done so occasionally in the past. My Steelman fixxie/SS 'cross bike is about as versatile (and simple) as they come. And my Chrome messenger "man bag" carries everything I need (and then some). Craig +

    7-pin wiring clarification needed

Woot! Yellow is definitely the back-up lights. Shopping for some LEDs now... :victory:

    Disc brakes vs. Rim Brakes

One other important factor (aside from stopping ability) that hasn't been mentioned is feel/modulation. I had a Formula (IIRC) full hydraulic rear brake on this Santana tandem, and while it stopped well, it had no "feel". This is my only hydro disc brake experience, but it turned me off to...

    Disc brakes vs. Rim Brakes

Avid mechanical discs rock...had them on an old bike. That being said, I don't have enough of a need to replace the rim brakes on my singlespeed. They don't stop as well, but on an SS, you learn not to ride the brakes anyway, to maximize your momentum. I wouldn't look further than Avid discs...

    7-pin wiring clarification needed

Thanks, gentlemen. I'll check to see if I get current when I put the Jeep in reverse. I hadn't tried that yet. And yes, I'd love to install back-up lights if the wiring makes it that simple. Thanks, Craig

Craiglist: Bantam trailer near Grand Rapids, MI

Glad to help by pointing it out. It's a crap-shoot on the true condition (hard to tell from the photos), and whether it'll last until then. It's probably going to draw more attention than not due to the "military trailer" description. Good luck! Craig

    Missing the Mark?

Agreed! The stock setup only uses one set of vertically-positioned bolts, though (not two sets), along with a BIG through-bolt that passes through the bracket, and also holds the safety chains. The through-bolt gives it the triangulation for the support. An extra set of holes would have to be...

    7-pin wiring clarification needed

I'm not getting any current off the yellow (accessory) wire (I am, however, getting steady power on the black, as expected). What controls the flow on the accessory wire? Craig

    Missing the Mark?

x3 I'm just about to do this with my M101A3 trailer. I already have the Max Coupler, but even if I didn't, a removable receiver-mounted 2" coupler is a great theft deterrent, and allows a great deal of flexibility. What's the purpose for building the structure on the bottom side of the...

    M101A3 tail light parts supplier?

I'm familiar with g503, but not with MVPA. So there aren't any suppliers of new replacement parts (short of buying complete new taillights)? Craig

3-link (three link) w/air bag suspension questions

I'm first addressing the biggest priorities with my M101A3 trailer (wiring, coupler swap/mods, etc.), I want to give some thought to, and start researching, the future air bag suspension design. I already have a set of AT mounts, and should have some air bags shortly (currently a backorder...

    SS gearing thoughts

Sheldon Brown (rest his soul) would be proud. :victory: I'm no help. I ride SS & fixed exclusively, but Michigan terrain is much different from Colorado. Steelman Fixxie/SS 'cross bike: 42:15 road, 42:16 or lower offroad (SS), depending on where. I have a SS MTB for that, though, so I don't...
