I notice that some people state over & over that the M101 is too heavy for Wranglers, Tacomas, etc. I agree about the tow rating facts. I think a lot of it depends on the intended use, and there is not one default answer for everyone - it depends on the type of offroad the user will be doing...
Can a M101A2 or M116A2 owner post up the frame width & length (not the bed/tub, but the frame)?
Also, regarding the tilt system on these trailers...
If you replaced the military axle with a standard trailer axle w/electric brakes, you'd lose the hand brake functionality. However, if you...
Very cool idea. I couldn't find anything on price, either, but my curiousity is piqued.
EDIT: Just found this on their forum:
A Teal Camper for a 4'x 8' utility trailer (5' x 8.5' interior), outfitted as shown in the assembly video, is targeted between $3,500 and $4,000. No promises at this...
Great info, but I couldn't find a fore-aft measurement on the location of the tongue pivot.
Can any of you M101A2 owners take a measurement of the pivot from the front of the tub to the center of the pivot bolt, and from the back of the but to the center of the pivot bolt?
Can you owners also...
Does anyone have a link to an online manual for the M-101 3/4-ton trailer? I'm interested in the dimensions for the fore/aft positioning of the tongue where it attaches to the bed, and the fore/aft axle location. I realizeed I'm going to have to locate my tongue on the underside of my frame...
Good idea to try it as-is first. That being said, I owned an M-416 a while back, and found it terribly inconvenient without a tailgate. My $0.02 is worth what you paid for it. :sombrero:

I'd guess between $750-900. Regardless what you paid, the custom decals/striping make it worth the purchase price. :sombrero:
Build it the way you want it. Don't ask this question on g503.com, though, as you'll get a completely different answer.

I get that...just trying to minimize the trial & error. I'm a planner by nature, and like to think things through thoroughly before executing.
It's really not that simple, though. See the bracket/air bag photo above. The diameter of the airbag will increase as it compresses, and clearance...
Hi all,
I'm just finalizing an order with Martyn at AT for some Firestone air bags and upper mounting brackets, among several other things.
I'll be using the air bags for the suspension, and will main leafs from a set of new stock CJ-7 front springs to locate the axle only (I also plan on...
Jeff - My $0.02...it would be great if you could buy the complete full top, but also buy an optional 1/2-top (top part only) to have a convertible Full/Half-cab. The parts interchangeability is a very cool feature!
Craig
I've seen your trailer thread...idea sharing is all good. :sombrero: I'm with you. It may open up some opportunities, but will just take longer to build. At least I should have a flatbed-ready trailer for the summer, and can continue to work on a box set-up for it while I use the "base...
I picked up my 2" wheel spacers from JT's, and it looks like they'll work great. THIS BUILD THREAD mentions 1.5" spacers, but the Gambler wheels are defniitely different from my Ravine wheels in regards to fit. The Ravines require a 2" spacer, and will still need some very minor trimming on...
Where are you located? I have a brand new 62" wide 3500-lb. axle I bought from ABC Trailer, but it's a little wide for my needs. I'll be ordering a narrower one from them shortly.
Craig
Thanks guys. I need the encouragement!
Others have mentioned this idea, but I do not want to have the hole enlarged, as I'd also have to do it on my vehicle spare.
Uhh...what? :coffee:
I talked with Randy at ABC Trailer Parts, and the 2K-lb. axles have the same size outer...
I am hitting such a "downer" period while trying to build this freakin' thing. I just got my axle from ABC Trailer Parts today, and while the axle looks great, the hubs do not fit through my OEM Jeep Ravine wheels. The dust cover doesn't even clear the center hole on the wheel. SO, I'm...
