    1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Build

Late model should be 44's. At the end of the run the 727's had torque converter lock up if im not mistaken, but never a 4 speed option.

Theres also a huge difference between coils and leafs. My ********'ll never ride "nice" on leafs. I'm just hoping i can take some of the harsness away on the washboard and rocky stuff. There are trips and roads that a subaru could traverse where I just turn back and abandon the effort because I'm...

    Lumpskie's 1989 Grand Wagoneer Build

Lol, I used to pay attention to and react to every "new" sound my jeep made. I got sick and tired of losing sleep and working on it, so now unless something falls off or stops working, I assume its just a 45 year old vehichle being 45 years old.

Looking to replace my shocks. I have load leveling coil over shocks on the rear, and im just plain sick of how harsh the ride is. Luckily this thread came to the rescue! I was able to go back and get the part numbers I used, which allowed me to cross reference the travel, extended, and...

    Marn's Basic M-416 Build

Another thought: The under rack lights served their purpose quite well, as did the interior lights on the tent. The two times I have used this I have kept my little table right at the trailer, over the tongue. It's quite convenient to have everything located close. We found ourselves leaving...

    Lumpskie's 1989 Grand Wagoneer Build

I'm not sure what a dieseling sound on startup would refer to, sound wise. Dieseling is when you shut the ignition off and the engine continues to fire for a moment or two, and putters out. I'm not sure how that would relate to a start up sound, as you're starting it, not shutting it off...

We chatted and stayed up for a bit, but then crashed out. Temps werent too bad, it was cold but not extreme. Temps were in the upper 30's that night. The next moring, breakfast was cooked, then we headed up to Virginia Lakes to do a bit of fishing. It was a fruitless effort but the scenery was...

1973 Wagoneer - Full Size Camping Goodness

Well, the second trip with the trailer and tent was a success. Still in "shakedown" mode, not taking any extreme distance trips or hardcore trails, but this trip was further, had much more backroading, was an off grid "dispersed" camp site, and had some decently varying weather conditions. I...

Glad the ground fixed it, but other things to look at are heat soak on an old starter, as well as timing being too advanced.

little better pic of the lighting setup. Will be reproducing this with 4 more lights INSIDE the awning. Untitled by Marn, on Flickr

And, we have light! I just used some cheap water proof LED's from ebay. Wired directly to the battery fuse block, with a switch in line. I used automotive weather proof plug connectors at the battery box, so it can be unplugged at any given time without removing the lid of the box. Untitled by...

Interesting. I guess maybe they make them acid resistant, but not sure why something outside the battery box would matter. I'm not sure what its made out of, but the previous few i have had on campers and whatnot just disintegrate in the sun. That being said, i was mostly referring to the...

    Marn's Basic M-416 Build

Untitled by Marn, on Flickr Untitled by Marn, on Flickr Untitled by Marn, on Flickr somebody on facebook asked for a build and parts list, so here's the rundown: Okay, so there are a lot more sturdy or roomy ways to do this project, but I'm poor and cheap and had limited space on the front...

Well, right after that post I took off on a trip, and 150 miles from home i blew a transmission line. Thanks jeep. I fixed it, and drove home after filling the trans back up.

Aite, after the first successful trip there were still some remaining items that needed to be fabricated. Spare tire carrier was a must, as I wanted it out of the tub, and preferably adding weight to the tongue. We created a pretty basic mounting system by welling a cross piece to the front of...

1973 Wagoneer - Full Size Camping Goodness

So on this last trip towing the RTT trailer through the mountains in Plumas County California, I remarked to my wife ‘You know, as much as I ********** and moan about this thing, and as much frustration it has caused and money it has cost....it really has taken us a ton of places. We really USE IT...
