1973 Wagoneer - Full Size Camping Goodness

More work done. Painted the rack, added some bubble levels. Added stabilizer jacks under the rear to make sure it doesnt go tippy tippy backwards. I can jump up and down in the back now and no issues. Picked up some lvelling blocks so I can get it pretty close to level in every direction...

    Dice...... The 1978 Jeep Wagoneer

Just a heads up, but I threw a set of Monreo Sensatrac Load Leveling shocks on the back of mine, which adds a bit of weight capacity as well as gives a little boost. It raised my rear end about .75-1" give or take, and made it sink WAY LESS when I hook up my camper.

Well. Its almost done. Got everything mounted. Decided to forego the front cross bar, and opted instead to mount the tent as far forward as possible to add some tongue weight. In the back we just did about an 8" raised cross bar in case I wanted to toss anything up there. Also just finished it...

Busy weekend, but things are coming together. This is the first fabrication project i have ever worked on, and am being guided by a friend. I've probably done about 75% of the welds, a ton of the cutting, both with saw and plasma, etc. The welds are ugly, but i have been assured they should be...

How do I work the built in light in a CVT Summit Series

I just picked up a lightly used CVT Mt. Shasta Summit, and it has the build in LED light/USB ports. I have no idea how this works, and the user manual simply says to hold the button until it turns on. The tent is currently in the bed of my pickup until I can get my rack b uild, so I cant open...

That little trail is the PCT. The jeep was running warm as we were climbing in 4 low at a few mph. It didnt overheat, but I dont like seeing the temp gauge hit 220, so I parked a few times and allowed it to cool. We intended to hike the final half mile or so up to the fire lookout, but it...

Well. One of my sayings is "use your ********". Wednesday rolled around, wife and I were talking. "We should go camping this weekend" "Sure" "Where do you want to go?" "Up around gold lake?" "Sounds good, but will we be able to get a camp site?" "We'll find out, there are 9 campgrounds up there"...

Got new hardware for the trailer and bolted it all back together. So, it’s road ready at this point, not that I really have any need to take it on the road what with the addition of the ford to my fleet. Put a good number of miles on the Wagoneer yesterday, and man it’s running well. Hot day...

Wow! Its been months since I've worked on or written about the lil' trailer. I recently picked up a 1974 F250, and told myself before i got too deep into that I need to put the trailer back together. Well, i spent 3 weeks or so messing around with the truck and still ignored the trailer. Finally...

    No Top/Soft Top Overland Trip

In the 3 years that I owned my TJ, I think it had a hard top for about 3 months. Numerous trips, long and short, city living, never had any problems. Why would there need to be any special considerations?

Nothing special, and nothing FSJ related (except using a hand full of the same parts). Picked up this exceptionally straight 1974 F250 Ranger XLT Camper Special from a buddy. Literally one ding in the bed side, and two small dings in the tailgate. Interior needs help, but I can take care of...

No new work on the wagon but been purposely using it as my weekend driver. It's runnin' well. I need to get a tailpipe for it in the near future to kill the popping.... Also, I think today it'll be getting a new, albeit VERY DIFFERENT friend to keep it company...that is unless I come to my...
