    FJ Cruiser Prices Skyrocketing.

I hear that a lot lately. New Tacomas around here are marginally more expensive than ones that are 5 years old.

I don't know the actual horsepower numbers, but the 22RE is definitely more powerful than the 22R. Not to mention the ease of ownership with the EFI.

Thanks for clearing that up Doc. Good info.

    Transmission issues with my '95

If it were my truck, I would swap in a 5 speed manual. Those 3.0's are not known for their power and the A340 trans sucks up what little power there is. A manual trans would be a very easy swap and much nicer to drive.

Thank you guys. I've only been here for 8 years. I worked for Inchworm Gear while I was living in the bay area (yes, 100 mile commute each way) but I took that job so I could look around for a home up here after work. Once we bought a place, I went out on my own. I don't advertise and my shop...

Thank you. I didn't even consider starting a thread on this truck until I saw it sitting on four tires. It just had that appeal that I knew you guys would appreciate. SEM self etching primer for normal application and SEM Copperweld for the spots that need protection between layers.

I would never drive my Rover in the rain. That would be suicide. I like them because they were the right size for the look I was after. Because they were $140 each. Because they are bias ply and they work great off road.

1st Gen Hilux 3RZ build thread - Stoffregen Motorsports

The steering angle comes from the CV. Even if a stock CV can turn 30 degrees, it may not be strong at 30 degrees so running hard at full lock is not advisable, especially when backing up. A wider axle can allow for more steering angle if you are already limited by the tires rubbing on your leafs...

Hilux question, Reffered to as a KUN25?

Toyota has used codes forever. I know they are used to describe the chassis, but maybe they describe the body configuration as well. I wonder if you can purchase that roll cage there in Chile.

Hilux question, Reffered to as a KUN25?

I did a quick search just to see what you were looking at. Cool stuff. Does it have the bolt on external roll cage? http://www.safetydevices.com/fleet/products/roll-cage/Toyota+Hilux+KUN25+%2728Vigo%2729-2005-2015-4-door-Crew%272FDouble+Cab+Pick-Up-without-sunroof/513/1338/ What country do...

You can clearly see the long shackles he used on that truck. If you used stock shackles front and rear, it would bring it down just about an inch. I used a custom high steer setup on the '87 I'm building and it barely fits. What I mean is, any lower and I would not think it was a good idea. But...

That is a 2" lift OME spring with the "medium" rate option in the rear and sitting on 31x10.50's. The front shackles are 5" and the rears are stock. The front axle has been moved forward an inch. I love the look.

    Modern Farm Truck

Here's the truck without any weight on the rear. I don't think you can see from this angle, but the rear shackles actually point at the springs. Totally the wrong direction. I put my quad plus a couple sheets of thick aluminum on the back to approximate the loaded payload (about 900 lbs) and...

This truck http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/146195-Modern-Farm-Truck has 31x10.50's on it. I just put OME 2" springs under this one with medium rate springs for the rear, stock shackles in the rear and 5" shackles up front. It sits high in the rear but it will spend most of it's...

I've got the Swamper 34x 9.50's on my Rover and they flat spot overnight. Not a good choice for a street driven truck. Mine is rarely street driven so I don't really care. These are mounted on stock solid axle Toyota mini truck wheels.

The OME springs are a direct bolt in so it won't degrade the value of your truck. It may actually enhance it, because of the new look. The stock brakes are not excellent, but the upgrades are not really necessary until you fit big tires. Even then, I know guys driving around on stock brakes...
