Here We Go Again…Buy the Hype, Put A Deposit Down, Keep Your Fingers Crossed, and Be Patient

The ideal case has always been tiny and simple urban vehicles. Small range, small battery packs. Quiet, no pollution. Save the ICE for long trips, and hauling loads.

    Truck Camper Aluminium Frame

If it's a well made camper on a fully boxed truck chassis, then you really don't need a subframe... or something minimal would be sufficient. If you want to take the camper off and haul loads, that's a different scenario. If you have a C-channel chassis with a lot of torsional flex, that is yet...

    Starlink or Garmin in reach

If you use less than 10GB/mo that might work. It's $2/GB if you go over. The standard Roam is $50 for 50GB/mo and $1/GB above that.

    Thoughts: Gen 1 Tundra or new-ish F150?

The Tacoma DC long (6') has a 141" wheelbase, and the Tundra RC has a 127" wheelbase... just for more data points. The Tundra is ~5" wider, but don't know about the turning radius. Old ones are better than new in that regard, though.

    Isuzu build for the future?

I took for granted that you knew what you were talking about, but I don't see anything regarding Isuzu truck chassis being discontinued. Fuso is a Mitsubishi truck, and these have been phased out. With the Isuzu NPR being readily available, and having a GM drivetrain these should be perfectly...

    Thoughts: Gen 1 Tundra or new-ish F150?

You can even get a DC with 8' bed... but that does make it less maneuverable. Hard to find as well...

    Thoughts: Gen 1 Tundra or new-ish F150?

That's a pretty tight difference honestly, since the Tacomas aren't that little anymore. What dstefan said about the 2nd gen (2007-2021) Tundra is true. Better turning radius than the 1st gen and definitely better than the new ones, or any other fullsize... except for the 450(0)+ trucks.

Two Years Living On Two Wheels...And Counting

You like living on the edge! I don't like being broke, but I do like being poor just fine... sometimes I think I prefer it... less crap to deal with.

Two Years Living On Two Wheels...And Counting

Just wondering about the green! That's in the rainy season, so plants are happy and busting out... but it's usually pretty green all year at high elevation, except for late spring most years.

    Isuzu build for the future?

Oh they have some very nice features like being able to see where you are going and putting more in a wheelbase... but it's not worth the hassle and expense for most people.

    Isuzu build for the future?

The Isuzu and Fuso aren't 4wd either... gotta pay $$$ to convert. Just start with a 450(0)+ level C&C and make your life easier. Assuming this will be used in North America.

Impact of Congress voting to sell Federal lands?

No it wouldn't. If the states get control of the land, they have no obligation to keep it public. The only reasons states want control is to make $$$ from it.

Carbon Fiber Tacoma Bed Replacement Camper - Build Thread

He said epoxy...? I tried a few different cheap epoxies, and like the basic EBond the best. The smell never bothered me at all, while some of the others did... but none were close to polyester resin or 2x PU paint for toxic odor.

Here We Go Again…Buy the Hype, Put A Deposit Down, Keep Your Fingers Crossed, and Be Patient

Very close. In '84 I bought a SR5 XtraCab, 5spd, 2.4L fuel injected, 2wd, no AC for $8k. With the 3.15x inflation factor, that is $25k in today's money. $13k for the Champ is quite cheap, but it would cost more if sold here. I remember back in 2016 when I paid $31.2k ($41.5k today) for my Tundra...

I can't deal with that stuff... Some epoxies smell fine to me, however.

Anyone disconnect their front sway bar?

    (y) Good budget choice from what I hear. Digressive damping which is what you want.

Anyone disconnect their front sway bar?

If it's "floaty" or "wallowy", new shocks or a rebuild with higher low speed damping should fix that. Unless she just gets car sick in anything...
