Mine was older, before the aluminum body. I think they gained some payload with that change. Still, an XLT SuperCrew 4X4 with 1900# is all anyone could ask for, you did good. (y)
You, everything you've added to the LR, your cargo and the tongue weight of the trailer need to weigh no more than the payload shown on your door sticker. You probably know this but the payload will bite you before the weight of the trailer. You are likely to need a WDH with a 5000# trailer.
Sorry, it was a SuperCrew. You are lucky to have that 1900#! I wish the dealers would show payload sticker with all the other pics online. Would be much easier to shop than opening every door on the lot.
I don't think they've had the HDPP option for several years. My lightly optioned SC XLT was only 1300#. I don't think you'll find many 4X4 SCs on dealer lots with 2000# payload.
I might have missed it, maybe in another thread, but how much over payload are you? Would you suggest a number of pounds that is OK or would you use a percentage?
East of the Mississippi you are going to be on state or national forest roads. Popular routes are well documented on YouTube if you can stand the bubba bro presentation. Carry a battery operated pole saw in case you get stuck where you can't turn around.
You might go to a dealer and look underneath one with the FX4 pkg. If those "skid plates" cover what concerns you it should be easy to add them to your truck.
Yes, I got some clamp on extensions that gave a good view on the road. The mirror differences confused me when I was trying to back up the trailer so not completely satisfactory. If I keep the combo I may put a camera at the back of the trailer with a constant rear view.
