    Sleeping Arrangements

Yep, we have barn doors, hence the question... I will have to figure a way to challenge Ann into it... Sleeping in the back would not be our camping option every time, but would be useful (I think) from time to time. I like Lance's platform and may come up with something like that...

    HumveeLife off road Moab videos

A bit off topic, but have you seen many (or any) H2's modified enough for trails?

    Sleeping Arrangements

You guys are right on it. We have an air mattress already that I think will fit. The screens held on with Magnets over the windows is a great idea... I wonder if Ann can rig us a giant one to cover the rear opening of the Burb. Keep those pics coming. It is really helping a lot.

The working - camping OBS F-350

I like what you have done here. The 460 is a great platform and as you said made sense to keep to what you could have had in the truck. I think for mpg you are getting about as good as can be expected. I see a big block swap into my suburban in the future (hopefully not too soon!). On your...

    Sleeping Arrangements

This past weekend I went on my first camping trip with my 1991 Suburban in the NC mountains. I slept the first night in my bantam trailer/truck tent mash up and that went well, but dang it was cold. On night 2 I slept in the second seat of the Burb. Thank goodness I am only 5'6". :). When I...

    1991 Suburban 2500

Looking for ideas on how to protect the wheel wells. I drive on dirt every day. When it is wet the mud, etc... accumulates on the inner lip if the wheel well. Realistically I cannot clean that out every day. Do people ever do a liner, or use bedliner or some other product to protect the...

I also like the one on the cucv. Add some brush guard in the style you like and you are good to go. Great truck. Looks great on the 35's

    1991 Suburban 2500

Bojak, These trails were in Pisgah National forest, near Mortimer, NC. Kind of between Lenoir and Blowing rock. Lots of dirt road riding, hiking and camping opportunities. Also Wilson Creek may be the prettiest piece of water to be found... worth the trip. I will be heading back up there in...

    1991 Suburban 2500

Well the old girl had a great first outing in Mortimer, NC. I am totally impressed. The trails we did were tight and twisty, with a few difficult spots. Honestly more obstacles than I had ever planned for this rig, but she walked it all. I am glad I put the rear locker in... I idled over...

    1991 Suburban 2500

Got the burb back from the trans shop today. They did a complete transmission service, replaced the transmission and transfer case mount and replaced pads on the shift fork in the transfer case. The on road drive seems to have improved a bit, in the sense that the transmission seems to ****...

Jeep heads back to the battlefield?

Love it. Mobility is survival. I think there is the need for a rig like this that is more agile than a hummer. Semper Fi Frank. John

Honest opinions on the Grizzly locker?

I have never had a grizzly, but I would dismiss any worries about the behavior of an auto locker on the road, even in the ice and snow. I just put a lock right in the rear of my Burb... It is invisible on the road. This past weekend our southern end of SuperStorm Jonas left us with a couple...
