Thanks Larry! At some point there is an engine swap in my future and you and I are going to have to discuss that 8.1L :) As for now the 350 is doing the job although blowing a little blue smoke at start up and clicking instead of starting sometimes... etc.... etc.... etc... a swap hopefully is...

Added a Molle panel to the rear door and a shot of the fridge for you. I have the forward end secured and am looking for solutions to secure the rear. I have a whole box of anchors and what not somewhere in the shop, just cannot find them.

Matt - I have a portable battery box that I can move between my two trailers. I have my little bantam trailer and then the pop up for the family trips. Also the portability gives me the option to take it off the trailer and use to jump off whatever vehicle needs it. I went with an inexpensive...

    1992 GMC Suburban

Nice. I am just learning the difference between jeeps and driving my big ole burb is slick conditions. Seems like the off camber stuff, low traction stuff gets super interesting when the heavy beast wants to slide. She is gonna go where she is gonna go :-0

Thanks Justcuz. Went off on a trip to town tonight and the Burb is running well. I have also been using it on the farm a bit, which is helping me learn the ins and outs of this large vehicle. Excited to take I ton the first offroading adventure in a couple weeks for the BRE Winter Safari.

Hooked up 12v for the fridge today. Ran from the fuse box I mounted by the battery, down the frame rail and up into the back. fridge fits and runs fine... working on securing it. Secured the stock trailer hook up... Also did some more work on my trailer... mounted a contico box, wired and put...

    1991 Suburban 2500

Thanks guys. After researching a bit today, I checked the EGR and it seems to be working. I went ahead and replaced the MAP sensor. Seems to be running smoother... in my mind anyway. M35A2, it is a TBI and I will be replacing the IAC tomorrow and Warpath the temp sender as well. I...

I called Borgeson this morning. They were very patient and helpful. They recommend hat shaft not be full extended, as there is movement of the slip joint back and forth even when it is attached. So this evening should include cutting the tubular part of the shaft (also confirmed by them) and...

Thanks for the response. The shaft is too long to fit otherwise, and the instructions say to cut it, I was just unclear as to what the normal amount of collapse "ability" needs to be. Thanks, John

When I got home from work today my Borgeson steering shaft had arrived. I took advantage of what little light we had left and removed the old steering shaft and cleaned things up a bit. A couple questions for those of you who have done this before: 1 - Does the ujoint on the steering box get...

Cool. As I said, you likely know more about solar than me... and here I have learned from your response. What locker are you considering? I am looking right now as well.

Really like your Burb. Are your running boards custom made? They look beefier than the stock ones. I have been looking for and not finding some kind of step/rock rail/slider to protect the rockers. Also being on dirt every day, it would help to keep dirt/mud off the sides of the truck. If...

    1991 Suburban 2500

Truth. I began wheeling, like many, without a locker. But it has been since 2004 since I have wheeled an unlocked rig... and I have never wheeled anything this big. Excited for the challenge. We are lucky enough to live way out in the woods and on some of my "test" areas, I am impressed with...

    1991 Suburban 2500

Different uses I suppose. I do not think I can reasonably keep both. Still a great position to be in. When I drive the jeep, I love it. When I drive the Burb, I love it. Yesterday afternoon we tooled up the road 35 miles or so to check out a growing downtown area. Taking the 2 lanes...

Yes, security is one of my concerns as well. I considered going to a hard top for the jeep, but that kind of negates part of the allure of the vehicle.
